Hello, starting from the 26th of September, I have had issues having no internet with my cable connection.
On my router (Fritzbox 6600 Cable) the WLAN light is turned on consistently with the Power/Cable light repeatedly flashing. I have tried restarting the router several times, removing and re-attaching the coaxial cables and ensuring that they have a firm connection, troubleshooting in the router internal settings/o2 app with no luck.
I wanted to check whether its a problem with the service, or if I am having hardware issues regarding the cable/router.
Thanks
Martin

Hello @MartinViidik ,
the blinking power/cable LED can mean that the router isn’t receiving a signal, but also that it is in the process of trying to establish a connection. Is the log of the FritzBox showing anything of interest? I wouldn’t expect it to be an error with the router from what you have described, but rather an issue with the connection itself.
Kind regards, Sven
Hello @o2_Sven
No, it seems like the log files got erased upon restarting the device. Since there is nothing noteworthy there. I checked the troubleshooting section and it failed at “Establishing Connection” part.
I contacted support chat directly and there I was told that my MAC Address had to be changed and that the change would take effect within a day. I have had troubles with that issue before (No internet for at least two weeks) so I am cautiously optimistic whether that will solve the issue or not.
Thanks
Martin
After contacting technical support and waiting roughly day, the issue unfortunately still seems to be present.
If its not the problem with the router, would it be possible to check whether its a problem with the landline connection itself or if I would potentially need to replace the coaxial cables ?
With the long weekend coming up I am concerned that I would be left without internet through out that entire period, so I would really appreciate any help regarding this.
Sincerely,
Martin
@MartinViidik Have you in your apartment ever internet over coaxial cable? What you see in the Fritzbox menu under Internet/Cable Information/Overview?
Hello @John Doe
Yes, my apartment has internet over coaxial cable. I was using the internet with no problems for over a month at least, even on the day the issue occurred, I had connection in the morning and as such were able to access internet.
In the Fritzbox menu I really do not see anything out of ordinary, on the overview page it just is stuck on “Establishing Connection…this may take a few minutes” and on the channels page everything seemed okay too. Diagnosing also just only popped a message in the “cable connection” part.
I am kind of clueless what to do in this situation, its definitely not a problem with my router. I am leaning on it being either a problem with the ISP or something magically broke within my wiring.
Sincerely,
Martin
