O2 DSL contract


Dear Team,

 

My DSL contract customer number is xxxxxxxx. I have O2 DSL contract from last 30 months. Its contract end date is in July. But If i want to cancel its early before the termination date. What is the process and how can I cancel it? Are there any extra charges? 

 

Please suggest.

Do you want to cancel the contract because you move to another country or o2 istn’t available on the new address?

Please consider the following information.

  1. I will move back to India in April last week from Germany. So, I want to close the contract.
  2. My actual contract will end on 12th July and the notice period start from 12th April. So, there are two options with me:
    • First Option: I will provide notice to terminate the contract on 12th April and end it as the usual way on 12th July.
    • Second Option: I will give notice now and because I will leave the country in April.
  3. So, Please suggest which option is better for me? I will need DSL connection till april End. 

Please let me know in which option I will need to pay less money?

thanks for your message concerning your wish to cancel your DSL-contract because of moving abroad.

 

Nice that you ask already several months in advance about the exact procedure.

 

I am glad to help you to find the right solution. Please note that if you send us a cancellation because of moving abroad, you need to send in the following documents:

  • a deregistration certificate of your present place of residence (of Germany)
  • a notification of your new, foreign domicile (alternatively a confirmation of your employer or landlord)

Additionally, we will charge you with further 3 months basic fee after deactivation of your contract in April. 

 

This means that actually, it is easier for you just to cancel your contract 3 months in advance in order that your contract ends in July. With the normal cancellation, we just need your cancellation letter, no further documents.

 

In your case both procedures will have the same costs.

Thank you for the clarification and the answer. So, I have decided to provide notice in April for the cancellation. Please provide further answers to my following questions.

  1. Can I give cancellation notice from my o2 account online? Or do I need to send written application via post?
  2. Do I need to send back the router?                 ​​​​​

In order to cancel your DSL-contract, please find all instructions here: cancellation I hope you cope with German language.

 

As you can see, you can either cancel your DSL-contract by sending a letter or when you registrate your cancellation online. If you do it online, do not forget to confirm the cancellation within 10 days.

As per the earlier communication, I will start the DSL contract cancellation process in April - 2020.

Now please consider the following information.

  1. My friend is ready to take ownership of the existing contract.
  2. O2 will not have any advantage if I terminate my contract without a new customer.
  3. My current O2 DSL rate is 29.99 euros/month.
  4. Will O2 provide any discount rate to my friend if he will take the contract?
  5.  Currently, my friend has a good offer with other service providers. If you will provide a good attractive rate from 29.99 euro/month then he is ready to take this contract.

at the moment you have no personal conditions on your contract, so your friend can take your contract without pay more than you.

Please note, that for changing the ownership we charge a fee of 29,99 EUR.

 

You can start the change of the ownership online in “Mein o2” in your contract details, it´s named “Inhaberwechsel”.

As communicated earlier, my contract will end on 12th July. If I provide termination notice now, then also it will work till 12th July. Am I right? I want to have DSL connection working till June end. So, I am asking this question.

I have provided contract termination notice online on 10-April-2020 on O2 Website. After termination website suggested to call and confirm termination 089 - 787979459 but due to corona there is a huge line and English speaking colleague is not available. 

Can you request from your end to proceed further with cancellation? My customer number is 6038494976

Also what is 4 Digit of personal customer ID? It is nowhere mentioned in my contract. I have checked my entire contract.

the 4 digits are not in every contract mentioned. Here you will find information (in german) on the 4-digit personal customer code.
