Home Internet Activation not Done yet!!!!!


Home internet not activated as per the given date!! Waited for 1 long month without internet and with very poor mobile network(O2) in the city limits.

I was asked to extend my contract for another 2 years promising an express activation in February, during a change in my residence. 

 

  1. Firstly, express activation never happened. 
  1. The lady from the customer service promised to have a call back and support but it never happened( I have the name of the support team but not writing it in here).
  2. Activation should have happened on the 16th of March (today) as per the O2 portal. But it never happened.

1 month without INTERNET!!! 

Until when should I be waiting for the internet activation? I have been calling O2 at the least 3 times a day to understand what the problem is and until when should I be waiting ?

please make sure I won’t be charged by O2 for 1 whole month and no invoice generated for it.

If today was your activation date, wait for the activation email. It might not arrive until tomorrow.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Appreciate the response. 

My logical point would be that, the activation date mentioned should be 'Tomorrow' if I get the email tomorrow and an activation process starts tomorrow. Anyway, it's going to take way too long than I am suspected.

And surprisingly, now that I have to wait for the EMAIL instead of the activation.

Cable connection. O2 support team recommended me to change my router from a DSL to Cable moving to my new apartment. And asked to extend my contract to 2 more years (which I believe is the O2 way of tying up the customer no matter what/how the service is). 

 

At the least a timely ACTIVATION is expected as a customer!!!!!

Hello Hello, Adding to the above information. 

One good support guy just gave 200GB data for a month on my mobile for FREE!!!

The irony is that, there is no mobile network coverage for me in my apartment which is inside city limits.🤣

FYI.. Home internet still not activated.

Have you already connected the router? 
Was a fault report logged with the helpline?

Hello,

The router is connected and powered since a month. No fault report have been logged with any helpline. 

I am not sure though, Telkcotek contacted me for a termin tomorrow to check the internet activation (thats what I understood with my limited German knowledge).

Hopefully I get my internet before I leave Germany.

Someone on this message conversation was mentioning that , usually the aktivation happens the next day after receiving the email. 

STILL NO INTERNET!!!!! been 2 days and over after the date.

Is there any point in writing this in this community? am I going to receive any support from O2?

Hello, 

I have been already calling the service team since a long a time with no major help and hence I took it to the community post. 

please note I am not shouting and if O2 feels so, then there should be a reason for it and solve it from your side. My request happened exactly a month before and promised date of internet activation was on March 16th. 

It is quite understandable from a customer point of view after paying the money.

Really appreciate your insights on this.

our My Service App is a way to check the status of your connection and see for installation of your router.

I could take a look, your connection is shown as installed in our system and the MAC Adress of your router is also shown in our system.

What did the colleagues in our hotline tell you so far?

Hello Hello, Thanks for reaching out to me. 

Firstly a reply to Bumer for the above message, what is being said is written on my above conversations clearly about the support I received so far. Kindly go through it for better clarity. 

 

Secondly. ​@o2_Gerrit  : A good service guy(telkotek) visited my home yesterday and found the root cause. The internet is finally ACTIVATED after exactly 29 days of wait. I am closing this conversation.

That is good to read, ​@Nandakumar, that you now can use your connection.

For cable technology an express activation is possible for a new connection, not with a switch and/or change of address.

@o2_Gerrit  Thanks for that information. Then I was given false information from the O2 Support Team that express activation shall be done and extended contract for 2 more years.

I'm sorry you didn't feel well-informed. Express activation isn't always possible, unfortunately, and in those cases, the connection can only be activated on the scheduled date. It's really unfortunate that you experienced a further delay due to technical problems.

The contract extension resulted in a reduction of your monthly fees and no relocation fee was charged. I suspect our service team just meant well.

You can cancel your contract extension, however, you will then be charged a relocation fee of €49.99. Please let us know if you would like us to cancel the extension.
