FRITZ!Box 6660 Cable

I do not have Internet since lat night. And the worst part is that you do not have an English support number 24/7, so if my Internet goes away in the weekend,  which is the 2nd time this happened to me, I cannot do anything about it! But I will be charged fully for the extra 4g I used, right? This is not good! I think I will need to change my Internet provider because in general this is not stable. I have issues several times. Do you have any other company to recommend?

@Eliant Did you have an original o2 contract where, due to a disruption, a 200GB data package could be added by an o2 employee?

And if you have the technical problems, you will seen this over Vodafone cable too. o2 only rent the cable connection at Vodafone.

DSL is not an alternative for you?

I am not sure I understand what you mean, so I guess the answer is no.

Just to clear, the problem is my home Internet

@Eliant OK. Again. Changing the technology from cable to DSL is not an option for you?

I don’t like cable products. Too much technical problems.

How do I do that? But again I am paying monthly for Internet connection,  if they cannot do that properly and I have technical issues so often, then why pay them from the first place? Why not go with a better provider?

@Eliant I don't think you understand your situation. Again, you have chosen cable technology. This is provided by Vodafone and rented by o2. So you can only go to Vodafone as another provider if you want cable as technology. And they will have the same problems. Backward interference, utilization of the cable head station etc.

Please call the English speaken o2 hotline and raise a ticket. By the way. What stand in the system log from the Fritzbox? How is the connection speed?

And last words: Cable technology is a technology you shouldn’t choose if you want a stable Intenet connection. Please take DSL or fiber if you can.

o2 can you switch over to DSL if your problems not solved. But you must raise serveral tickets for this.

And I think you have a 24 months contract. Not easy to get out of this, if you have technical problems. If you want out of this contract you must raise technical ticket and give your provider time to fix the problems. o2 will forward this problems/tickets to Vodafone.

Well I do not know what to say. I am coming from a small island naned Cyprus, but there we never had such issues with the Internet. And we also has 24/7 support. But anw.

@Eliant

  • Can you exchange the technology to DSL?
  • Is the Fritzbox 6660 rented from o2?
  • What stand in the system error log for internet in the Fritzbox?

Please keep in mind that you can switch the menu from German to English (if not already done. System/Region und Sprache)

How to know if I can exchange from cable to DSL? I mean is this something I need to ask O2?

@Eliant Did you have under Internet/Kabel Informationen/Übersicht (Oberview) active Download und Upload channels? If yes, what speed and how many channels?

I have one idea.

Hello @Eliant ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

How are things looking with your cable internet access? Are you still having the same issues and if so, have you already gotten into contact with the technical department so that they can take a look at what’s going on with your connection?

Kind regards, Sven
