it happened already second time so I decided to talk with the guy. Previously (somewhere in february) I got visit from Vodafone technician asking me wat Modem do I have because they will install fiber optic. Today came Telekom … I was talking with the guy and I immediatelly stopped at the moment when he wanted from my my current contract number.
So what the hell … what is the true there

I was told that they are automatically alone changing the contract from my current dsl to theirs fiber optic and this will happen in 3 weeks from today. Also if I do not agree I will pay later 1000€ for the connection - now it is free of charge.

so my question to you guys from O2 - should I be aware of something what is coming in the future regarding my dsl line or I should ignore the solicitors and sleep like a baby during the nights?

Do I need to agree to such change as this is something which will be changed despite of the fact if I agree or not? or these are just ordinary solicitors getting money for new customers which done the switch?

just as last sentence - I am really happy with my current DSL connection from O2 so I do not desire a change in this topic.

Hey @master-of-disaster2,
First of all - you have the freedom to decide which contract you want to continue and conclude. Nobody can force you to do so.
Of course, fibre optics is an interesting product. You would have to find out for yourself whether you are interested. However, if you are happy with your DSL contract, you can of course continue with it.
You could also talk to your landlord or property manager to see if a fibre optic connection has already been installed.
I hope I've been able to help you a little. If you have any more questions, just let me know. Perhaps our community expert has a few more tips? @Joe Doe

Greetings,
Flo

@o2_Flo just wanted to be sure that it is nothing what I should be forced into. I assume if such change will be forced - I will get information from O2 and not from other internet provider.

The DSL have some pros against the fibre optic connection, as I have also for private the fiber optic connection at different location, and really I do not want to change. Therefore I wanted to ask at the source 😉 . Nevertheless I will ask at owners meeting in 2 weeks about the case too

Thank you

Hello @master-of-disaster2,

If you are pressured to make such contractual changes at the front door, you should always close the door straight away. This is extremely dubious and, as you have described it, certainly not allowed without your consent .

I'm glad you were suspicious and didn't act on it and will continue to be our customer.

Have a nice weekend 😀

Best regards

Giulia
