I would like to know how can I finish the process of cancellation. On 17.07.2019, I receive an email said "Die Bearbeitung und die schriftliche Bestätigung können etwas Zeit in Anspruch nehmen." After few days late, I got a phone call from O2. He asked me about the reason why I wanted to cancel the contract. But, I would like to know does this means I have done the cancellation or I will receive a really letter from O2 by post? Or should I do something else to finish the cancellation?

No. A cancellation is a cancellation. The question is what have you told the guy at the phone?
when should the notice be effective. If you have a 2 year contract you have to cancel 3 Month before the contract ends. And than it takes 3 Month (till the end of the contract).

Thank you for your infomation. I have contract for 3 year now. The contract will be end on 2020 April. I just want to know will I recevie a formal from of cancellation after the cancellation. Or the contract will be terminated automatically when the time of the contract end since I have noticed them I want to cancel the contract. Thanks.

welcome to our community. We received the cancellation and proceeded it to April 25th 2020. Usually you get a confirmation letter within three weeks notice. If you don't get it by the end of this month gladly get in touch with us again. We will forward your request to send it once again.
