Hallo O2 team,

I started a DSL contract in september 2019.

I sent my DSL contract for termination (Kündigung vormerken) via online and received a document to call you for confirmation on 29.02.2020. I called O2 services and confirmed my cancellation and cancellation confirmation was received on my email (Kündigungsbestätigung). In the email the following is mentioned

“schade, dass Sie Ihr o2 DSL-Produkt nicht länger nutzen möchten. Wir bedauern Ihre Entscheidung sehr und bestätigen Ihnen die Kündigung zum 17.09.2021. Zu diesem Termin werden wir den Festnetzanschluss mit der Hauptrufnummer 4976xxxx83087 wie gewünscht abschalten. “

I want to cancel my contract now but in the mail it is written the cancellation date as 17.09.2021.

Additionally I received a Bill for the month of March and April ( 18.03.2020– 17.04.2020 ).

I wish to know what is the status of my cancellation and why I am receiving bills and what I must do additionally to successfully end my contract.

everything with your contract is totally ok.

you signed a 24 month contract in sept 2019. you cancelled it in time. you received confirmation.

now your contract will be finished after 24 month period is over. until sept 2021 you will have to pay and dsl will be running.

short time dsl is not available in germany. everywhere at all companies there are 24 month contracts.

 

what to do?

move to new house/ location where o2 cannot provide dsl.

move outside of germany.

then o2 must release you within 3 months time from contract.

 

or pray for o2 mercy.

 

just to ignore bills is not a good idea. this will bring you to court.

sorry for my late reply. I see that you have already managed to cancel your contract to an earlier date because you moved abroad. Your contract will now be cancelled by May 12to 2020. Under consideration of your 3 months notice period for cancellations, we will charge another 3 months with the next (last) invoice, counting from the receipt of your deregistration. Please note that the router has to be sent back to us, otherwise it will be charged as well. Please use our return portal to return your device. Here you can also print out a return label or download a mobile package label as a QR code. The return shipment is done with DHL and is free of charge.
