Blocked account and no DSL connection

Hi,

I recently attempted to order DSL internet from O2. A personal account was created for me to track the status of my order. However, my account has since been blocked, and I can no longer have an access to it.

It seems this issue might be related to Telekom not having free DSL lines in my building. If that is the case, I would have expected to receive a written letter or at least an email regarding the cancellation of my order. Instead, my account was simply blocked, leaving me with no information or updates.

How common is this? And what can I do?

Thank you!

Hi @OhHohOh,

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't received any written communication from o2. It's good that you're asking so that o2 moderation can get to the bottom of it.

If a DSL connection is indeed not possible in your home, you may be able to get an Internet connection via TV cable or fibre optics. If this is also not possible for you, the only option is an LTE/5G tariff.

Kind regards,
Alex

Hello @OhHohOh,
welcome to our community 💙
It's sad that it didn't work out for us with a DSL connection. Normally you should also receive something in writing from us, by post or e-mail. When did you stop being able to log in or when did you place your order?
MXP_Alex has already given you good support - is another type of connection from us possible in your home?
Best regards

Kathi

Hello @o2_Kathi,

Thank you for your reply.

I placed my order a couple of weeks ago. On January 24th, I received an email with the order number asking me to create an account to track the order. I did this, and for some time, it worked well, my order was on the “ordering line” stage. However, the next day, I was unable to log in. The website simply stated that my account was suspended and asked me to contact support. That’s it. I have not received any confirmation of cancellation.

Unfortunately, the O2 website states that only a DSL connection is available in my building (which doesn’t seem to be true).  Even no LTE/5G option, which is strange because o2 mobile phone line works well in my area.

Hello @OhHohOh,

I am very sorry that your order had to be cancelled.

Do I understand correctly that there is no telephone connection socket in your apartment? Then you should speak to your landlord so that he can arrange for access to the Internet.

We have received information regarding your connection that there are no free lines available in the building. This could be the case, for example, if your previous tenant/owner has not yet terminated his DSL contract.

You may also need to contact your landlord or the property management company about this.

Best regards

Giulia
