Hello, I am the happy new owner of 1Gbit Kabel but unfortunately not without issues.

My problem is that I have bad peering to my Plex server in Romania, especially in the evening, and I get very bad speed download or non-stop buffering to my media content. 

At this moment in time i have a download speed of 800kbps. Bare in mind that  the server has a 500/500mbps capability and is full dual stack.

Years ago when I was with Vodafone I had the exact same issue and it went all away when they gave my IPv4 only, then I could stream even 90mbps content in peace. Months ago i moved to Munich and the M-net that was at this location had the same issue, hence why I decided to move to o2. But now I am having same issue.

Is there something I am missing/ not understanding or something you can help me with?

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your cable connection issue.

If there are serious performance restrictions on cable connections, especially in the evening hours, this is usually a sign that the cable network is overloaded. You can have a ticket recorded for this with our technical support, and we will then forward it to the responsible cable network operator.

The cable connections we offer all have DSL Lite only. I suspect that this could be the cause of the challenges with your server, since you write that the assignment of an (external) IPv4 at Vodafone had worked before.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to switch to dual stack (IPv4/IPv6) with our cable connections. Have you ever thought about switching to a DSL connection or is the cable connection the only option for you?
