Dear O2 staff,

I have ordered Umzug for my current DSL-contract. Sadly my landlord just gave me additional information.

Allerdings habe ich Ihnen mitgeteilt, das kein Telefonanschluss in der Wohnung ist. Sie können Internet nur Über Kabelanschluss buchen. Die Telekom kann Ihnen keinen Anschluss schalten.

Can you suggest what I should do?

I would like to add this line onto my order note at least, so the system and the technician knows this.

And I would preferable not do it over the phone, as I do not speak much German.

Many thanks,

Y.M.

Hello @Mrinmoy and welcome to our o2 community :-)

From time to time it may happen that one moves to a new adddress, in most cases the DSL connection will come with you.

If, in this case you recieve the information the address was invalid, were you able to check the availability of DSL in our DSL Verfügbarkeitsabfrage? Do you recieve the same answer here?

If you already moved to a new place, did you update the contact address in Mein o2 already so we maybe might have a look into this?

Regards,

Lars

I am having a similar problem.

I will move to the new address in 2 weeks time and I want to apply for the change of address.

I have checked the availability of DSL, it says okay. (However my landlord said only Vodafone for some reason, so I really want support from a staff to be sure...)

Do you have a portal where I can submit all the information for you to evaluate?

Many thanks,

Yifei

Hello @Y.M.,

I suggest to arrange the moving of your DSL connection to the new address first so we can check if at this address the connection is technically possible. If this is the case, a technician will try to connect it to your new flat.

Even if some connection types are favoured by the landlord often it is possibe to also use alternative connections :-)

Regards,

Lars

Thank you.

Let’s hope the technician can help me!

Otherwise I will have to live without internet for a while, which will be difficult as I am still working from home…

Y.M.

I’ve started my own question in case I have follow up questions upon your reply.

Since you are on it, can you take a further look at my new updates?

That is, my current contract is a DSL contract but my landlord is sure that we only have cable connection in the building.

Many thanks,

Y.M

Hello @Y.M.,

I gathered all of your threads here so they are not so cluttered.

If there is no possibility to activate a DSL connection in your new flat I recommend to send all necessary ocnfirmation regarding this to our customer service. You will find the address on every invoice above your address.

Please include the Abmeldebestätigung, the Anmeldebestätigung and the confirmation of your landlord, that a connection via Telekom is not possible.

Regards,

Lars

for the ‘confirmation of your landlord, that a connection via Telekom is not possible.’ do you have a specific format that we shall have?

And what will happen to my umzug appointment? I have provided the details about the previous tenants so I guess they will realise soon it is not possible?

Hi @Y.M.,

no, there is no special format this confirmation has to be :-)

As soon as we recieve this and your Abmelde- and Anmeldebestätigung, we will check what steps will be taken. You should recieve further information after that within a short period of time.

Regards,

Lars
