My internet is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO slow!


Dear o2 team,

 

I have contract with o2 dsl (O2 DSL Classic S Flex) since April 2017. Sonce July 2020, it is very slow. I hardly open my e-mail account. We share wifi with my flatmate and she also has the same problem.

I would be very happy if you can inform me about the reason or fix the problem.

@vindemiatrix_4 you should have a speed max 50 Mbit down and 10 Mbit up with your tariff. 
What kind of router you use and what is the maximum speed at your adress? (Checked via Telekom and o2)

I have o2 HomeBox 6641 router. Max. download speed is 30 mbps and upload speed is 9.6 mbps.

Hello @vindemiatrix_4 and welcome to our o2 community :-)

If you are using wifi, there are lots of possibilities that influence the maximum speed that you can reach. If you are using several devices that connect via wifi the bandwith will be shared between all of them. If there are several wifi networks in the vicinity there will be addiotional devices that are using wifi frequencies which also has a negative impact on the maximum bandwith that you can reach via wifi.

If possible I recommend to use a LAN cable between the router and your computer or the device that you are using so this influences disappear.

Or buy a fritzbox 7590 and all wlan issues are gone.
