Asus Ai Mesh with Fritzbox 6660 Cable possible?

Im getting cable in the house and the only option from O2 is the Fritzbox 6660.

I would like to set up an Asus mesh network as I haven't heard anything good about Fritzbox mesh networks and the repeaters aren't all that cheap either.

Since O2 doesn't allow you to set up bridge mode or give you the option to get a simple modem what are my options if I want to have wireless mesh network from Asus or another company? Or am I forced to use a Fritzbox mesh network.

Is there maybe a list somewhere of compatible modems for use with O2 and I just get my own or is that not a thing here?

Turn off the WLAN of the Fritzbox. Than use any mash u like. I don’t know where the problem should be.

And you could buy your own docsis 3.1 Modem/Router if you like. there is no need for a router from O2.

So by turning off the WLAN does that effectively put it in bridge mode?

I would then be able to hook up an Asus Router per Lan set it as Mesh Master and have other devices under the Asus mesh without any performance drops? There is no information on google for this. The only thing i can find is how frit box doesn't allow bridge mode so I assumed I couldn't do this.

Turning off the WLAN will turn off the WLAN.

The AP (Master) of the Mash will just connect as a client to the LAN of the fritzbox.

Thats works with any cheap WLAN AP (Router). Why not with the Asus Mash?
