Set up of personal modem/router for DSL

Hello all, we hired the O2 DSL service and got the visit from the technician on Monday. He didn't speak english so we couldn't ask about the configuration of our Modem/Router device.

I followed a couple of threads here that are related, but couldn't find the right answers:
  • Will o2 send us our own credentials to set up the modem by post, or do we need to actively ask for them?
  • If needed, is there a chance we can do this request through this forum?
  • is there any guide for configuration? We don't speak German but we can manage to follow written steps.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! I can't call to the hotline either because we don't speak german 😞
