I subscribed for an o2 Free L contract a few months ago and I get a 20 GB data plan, but newer customers are getting a 30 GB data plan or 60 GB if they paid an extra 5 € per month.

I think that is unfair, and I feel cheated and betrayed!

As a customer, I demand that I get the same treatment and upgrade my account to receive a 60 GB data plan immediately!

Are you for real? You can demand all you like but it won't get you anywhere.

When you sign a contract you agree to the terms of that contract at that time. Products, prices and conditions can change over time and sometimes newer customers will get a better deal, sometimes the older customers do. That's the way the free market works. Would you be demanding that your contract be changed if the new conditions were not as good as  the ones you got? I highly doubt it. Would you complain to a petrol station owner that you filled up your tank for EUR 1,45/l and the price is now EUR 1.39/l? Or to an airline because the price of the flight you wanted to book has gone up since you last looked at the website and now includes a free piece of luggage?

Seriously?

I think a Prepaid SIM would be the better choice for you if you don't want to be bound by a fixed-term contract.

Are you seriously comparing the price of fuel to a Mobile network service used by both old and new customers using the very same network simultaneously?

That said, "demand" was the wrong choice of word, and I should have used "kindly ask". And I know that you are right, as a contract is binding and no "demands" nor "kindly asking" would make any difference! But some people, just like myself, rely entirely on mobile data as home DSL isn't available where I live, and any additional data would make a huge difference in my education and contacting family. Hence my frustration and writing about it here!

Again, you are correct, and thanks for your input!

Admittedly this is probably not the best comparison because it is product vs service, but yes, I do think it illustrates the point I was trying to make, namely that what you get for price X changes over time, or in other words: life's sometimes just not fair ;-)

That I completely understand.I was just iritated by your choice of words (and/or lack of smilies). No broadband at all? Via cable? There are alternatives such as DSL via LTE (e.g. WLAN aus der Steckdose: o2 HomeSpot, deine schnelle DSL-Alternative or other providers) but unfortunately these are (relatively speaking) quite expensive for the amount of data you get for the money.

I'm really sorry for sounding cold in my post, and I meant no disrespect to anyone!

I tried calling o2 to discuss my issue with them, but I couldn't get through mainly because for the language barrier, and no one was around at the time who could speak to them in German on my behalf. And I couldn't find a customer service email where I can contact o2, so I was only left with the choice to write here, so this was really meant for o2 staff only :-)

Thank you for the info, and actually I was going to order an o2 HomeSpot yesterday, which is relatively costly but pretty much my only choice for boosting my data plan, and that's when I saw the new o2 offers and got irritated as I became a customer only 3 months ago!

Now I've decided to get a GigaCube from Vodafone, and as soon as my o2 contract is up, I will leave o2 and get the new Vodafone Red XL plan with unlimited 4G / LTE Max and then I won't need the GigaCube anymore.

You see. If o2 would upgrade old customers' plans to be equal to new customers', then my problem would be solved and everybody would be happy 😉 … But, you were right all along, and this won't get me nowhere:

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it.
