Hi Team O2,



I would like to end my contract with O2.



I am fully informed that my contract will run until 9.4.2020, and I know that I will need to cancel that no later than 3 months before, and I know that I am late, and I will now need to pay my monthly Tarif until the end of my contract. But I want to make the cancellation now, so that I don't forget it later. I am not leaving Germany, but want to change the operator. I do not need or wish to keep my current number.



I have a few of questions:





  • I found this form on the O2 website 15th Jan, 2019. The form says "Stand: Februar 2017" on the top right corner. Is it still valid?


  • I have made my contract in an O2 shop in Berlin (Händlernummer 19000552). The form says:

"Bitte beachten Sie, dass ein Widerrufsrecht nicht besteht, sofern Sie den Vertrag in einem Ladengeschäft (z. B. O2 Shop) abgeschlossen haben." – Does it mean that I cannot end my contract with this form if I have made the original contract in an O2 Shop? If so, why?





  • After sending the form, can I still use my plan/subscription until the end of my contract (9.4.2020)?

I regret that you like to terminate your contract. May I ask you for the reason for your decision?

thank you for your answer. And thank you for reminding me about my German. That’s exactly why I’m here in the O2 English community to make sure I know what to do.



Could you also answer the last question? Can I use my plan until the end of my contract after canceling?



The reason why I want to cancel is mainly the data tarifs. Unfortunately the connection and network does not work as smoothly as I would wish (too often the 3G is weak, too often I can’t make calls either, whatever the reason), and I don’t want to pay that much of it. I also mostly need only data. I don’t make a lot of calls or send messages without internet.



I’ve seen better occasional O2 offers than my current plan but I was unable to change for the better tariff at an O2 shop. Also I do not want to tie myself up to yet another contract that would be a year again.

Of course, if you cancel your contract until 9th January 2020, you can use your tariff until 9th April 2020.



If you wish, I can check if I can make a good offer for you. But this will mean that you will prolong your contract for another 24 months.
