Cancelled contract

Hello. My phone number with you is/ was 0176xxxx502. I left Germany in October and I tried to cancel my O2 contract with you - I phoned your customer service and I was told to go to one of the O2 shops. At the closest O2 shop in Munich I was told I could only cancel the contract through a registered letter. I sent you a registered letter - again, in October - with my cancellation request. I never heard back from you and simply cancelled the direct debit in December, when I stopped using the mobile.
In March I received an invoice for 125.32 EUR which I assumed was the final payment, to make sure the contract was closed/ cancelled. I have paid those 125.32 EUR through bank transfer.
Today I received another Online-Rechnung for 41.78 EUR for March, which I have zero intention of paying. Can you please cancel that invoice and make sure my contract is cancelled once and for all?
Thanks
Joao

Dear @joaopedro,

we received your letter with the cancellation request back in October, the thing is that two documents were missing to fully go through with your request:

  • a de-registration certificate of your present place of residence and
  • your approval for us to charge you the all-inclusive basic fee for 3 months
You were sent a letter that requested these documents in October as well, but apparently, your date of leaving was too soon for that letter to arrive at your known address in time.
Therefore, the contract was cancelled to the end of the regular contract period, it will now end on 31 May 2019.

This means that the invoice you paid in March covered the added up costs of your still active contract.

Since we are in April already and the contract will definitely be terminated on May 31st, it would be of no advantage to you to still send those missing documents in.
So I guess it will be easiest to cover the outstanding invoices coming up in the next weeks and the final one in June.

I'm sorry for the inconveniences, I understand it is always rather unfortunate if things don't work out quite as planned when the time schedule in which one is moving abroad is rather tight.

But I guess under the circumstances, the easiest way for you is to let this contract run out by the end of May.

Best regards,
Jan.

Hi
Just wanted to confirm that the last invoice I am receiving and paying is the May 2019 one (to be paid now in June) and that I will not receive further invoices from O2 after this one?
Thank you
Joao

Hi @joaopedro,

thanks for your feedback, and you're right, the current invoice to paid in June will be the last one.

Occasionally, there is a delay for some non-standard connections (for example, text messages, service numbers, or calls to non-EU countries) to be charged, so there is a theoretical possibility that you may get one small extra invoice at a later point.

But I can confirm that your contract was cancelled on 31st May 2019.

Best regards,
Jan.
