Hello all,

First apologize for posting in English as my German is really weak.

Second I tried customer support but in vain, as they hardly speak German and my German is really at the basics. So trying to understand technical stuff is way beyond

My problem:

I moved to a new apartment. Before moving (more than 20 days in advance) I requested O2/Alice for "Umzug".

All went well with that and after some hiccups I have the internet up and running in my new apartment.

Unfortunately the phone line isn't working anymore. The light on the modem is off for Telephone

My router (192.168.1.1) says the following:

Freischaltung: Alice IAD ist freigeschaltet (Of course as I am able to browse 🙂 )

Online-Status: Verbunden

Status der Aktivierung: Green tick mark

Status der DSL-Verbindung: Green tick mark

Status der Erkennung des Zugangsnetzes: Green tick mark

And it also says "IAD steht für
Integrated Access Device. Ein IAD bietet zugleich DSL- und Telefonie-Schnittstellen an."

Can anyone help me to get the telephone working?

I tried reconnecting the cable but no use

Many thanks in advance

Note: My router model is ALICE IAD4421

I f you try to call someone, do you hear a message, asking you to type in a pin?

Regards

Stefan

No it's not asking for PIN but I only hear "beep beep.." Point is the light is not glowing in modem where it says "Telephone"

Every other light on the router except this is glowing (green)

Thanks

Do you already try a complete reset of the box?

Sometimes it could help.

Regards

Stefan

OK. did the reset and it didn't help as well :frowning

The "Telephone" light is off in the modem.

DSL is working fine. Not able to dial any number as I get fast beep sounds, and not asking me for PIN

When the modem is ON, I pressed the "reset" button at the back of the modem. Then i reconfigured the internet. I hope this is the way to "reset" the modem

any suggestions would be really helpful

many thanks in advance

ShakeNStirred, I wish you all the luck you need. Today, I had a guy on the hotline who refused to help me because my Windows 7 installation was in English, and he was only trained on German software. So he suggested I go to a local dealer, and just hung up! Very professional.

Although nothing O2 works here right now, I could connect the telephone using the "Telephon PIN" in the installation software. Just mentioning this because I read nothing of this in your post. To get my phone working, I needed to enter this PIN (which is on the O2 paperwork), even before entering the DSL account and PIN codes. Maybe you check back with the installation software on the CD.

All the best,

nobi

OK. Tried the CD and I don't see any option to enter telephone pin :frowning

Also I found out that in the alice box weboage (192.168.1.1) the "Zugangs-PIN" is disabled .

In the Einrichtungsassisten I see Startseite where everything is green and when I click "Weiter" it skips  "Zugangs-PIN" and goes to "Zugangsdaten"

There is no way I can enter my telephone PIN :-(

Back to square one

If you cant type in a pin, you dont need a pin. It was a question from me if you have to type it in. It doesnt mean that you have to do it.

Could you pleas send me your customer number with a personal mesage?

Regard

Stefan

Dear Stefan.

Thanks. One of your technicians called and the problem is solved. It was the reset issue. Did reset more than 30 seconds as per his advice and the phone line is working

Really appreciate your time & effort

Cheers
