Hello O2,

My DSL is too slow. Many times I see speed as low as 4Mbps. This is happening nearly from 24-May-2018.

Moderators can you please help me.

Hello @gaddamwaramol,

please provide the DSL landline phone number in your forum profile and write a note in this thread if you have done so.

We then will have a look into this issue. You already restartet and resetted the router?

Regards,

Lars

Hi Lars,

I don’t use the landline phone with DSL. I can provide my mobile number if required.

I tried restarting the router but same low speed. Not tried resetting the router.

Please help me to resolve the issue

Hi,

I have not connected any phone with the DSL. Can I still provide phone number? Is it written somewhere on the contract?

  • June 2, 2018
Moin Moin,

the number is needed to find the contract and support you.

Or if you have already VoIP just go to the Homepage of your router.

There you should find the number.

Go to Profil bearbeiten (upper right corner on https://) put the land lane number of your DSL Line in field Telefonnummer.

Than scroll down to Fertig and click on it.

Otherwise o2 Lars can't help you.

Lars need the number not for a call to you, he find with the number your contract in the database.

The phone number to your DSL contract you find on the bill.

Hi @o2_Lars,

I have maintained the landline number now in the profile.

Can you please check and see the issue.

Hello @gaddamwaramol,

I had a look into this issue. According to our data you should recieve the speed that this tariff provides.

On your screenshot I see that you are connected via WiFi. Please connect a computer directlyy to the router via LAN cable and repeat the speed test. What speed do you reach then?

Regards,

Lars

Hello Lars,

Normally i see speed of 10Mbps but many times speed gets reduced to 4Mbps. This is happening with LAN cable also without any other devices connected.

Why my speed is getting reduced multiple times to 4Mbps. Also maximum speed i am getting is only 10Mbps. As per my contract I should get 25Mbps. Is there any issue.

Hello @gaddamwaramol,

if you encounter speed issues, did you already open e technical trouble ticket regarding this? Because according to my data you should recieve a higher speed. If you have no stable speed at all there is either another device using up bandwith or there might be something physically wrong with the wiring. If the latter is the case a technical trouble ticket is needed. You can open one by calling the technical DSL service. Please be aware that we can not promise they will speak english so I suggest to have a friend with you who speaks german.
Regards,

Lars

Hi @o2_Lars‌,

Thanks for your reply.

What is the maximum speed i should get? 25Mbps or it is normal to get 10Mbps only?

Is there any solution of another device using up bandwidth? Can i check somehow?

Amol

Hello @gaddamwaramol,

you should reach up to 25MBit/s. Please consider measureing the speed with a ciomputer that is connected to the router via LAN cable. We do not see what devices you have connected to your router, this may be any device that connects to the internet using your router via WiFi or LAN cable.

Regards,

Lars

Hi @o2_Lars‌,

I tried several times measuring the speed with computer connected via LAN cable and without any other devices connected to the router still I see a maximum speed of 10-11 Mbps. And may times i see speed reduced to 4Mbps.

Do you need any screenshot with this?

What can be done to get more speed?

Regards,

Amol

Hello @gaddamwaramol,

I had a look at you DSL connection and it looks to me as if the speed is the smallest of problems as it looks to me as if the router disconnects sometimes within minutes.

Please ensure the following: Reset the router to factoriy defaults by pressing the reset button on the back for at least 20 seconds and re-enetr the PIN for setting it up.

Please only use the cables that came with the reouter, especially between the phone wall plug and the router. No additionalö cables or hradware are allowed there!

The router should be connected to a dedicated power plug, please do not use a power strip with other devices connected to it.

Regards,

Lars

Hello @o2_Lars‌,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I also see this issue where router get's restarted/disconnected sometimes. But speed is also a problem.

I see a maximum speed of 10-11 Mbps and a low of 4Mbps which is not as per contract.

Anyway i'll try to reset the router once and see if it solves both the issues (router disconnect and speed).

By the way, which PIN is required to setup the router after reset? Can i see it somewhere online?

Regards,

Amol

Hello @gaddamwaramol,

I think, we can have a look into the speed issue as soon as the one with the disconnects is solved. As long as you have disconnects, it automatically affects the speed.

You will find the data to setup your router on the online portal under "Mein o2" -> "Tarif & Optionen" -> "Vertrag verwalten" -> "Zugangsdaten für Ihren DSL Router".

Regards,

Lars

Hello @o2_Lars‌,

I did the reset of the router several times but still router get's restarted/disconnected. This issue is not solved. Also there is no improvement in the speed.

Can you please help to resolve both the issues(router restart and low speed).

Regards
Amol

Hello @gaddamwaramol,

please understand that we can not offer deeper technical support via this forum. I strongly recommend to contact our technical DSL hotline, as suggested on the 6th of this month. There seems to be an issue and a technical trouble ticket is necessary.

Regards,

Lars
