Moving my number to another mobile operator


I want to move to another mobile operator, and I want to keep my number.

I’m currently on O2 prepaid plan. I asked O2 support to do this.

They replied that it will be done. But I still haven’t got any sms/email message if my request to change number was completed.

How can I check status of my request?

Did you receive an SMS with the following content on your o2 prepaid card?

Lieber o2 Kunde, Ihre Freigabe der Rufnummer-Mitnahme zu einem anderen Anbieter (Portierungserklärung) für (your  o2 prepaid phone number) ist eingetragen und gültig bis XX.XX.2019. Für die Rufnummer-Mitnahme wird eine Wechselgebühr entsprechend der aktuell gültigen Preisliste berechnet.

How can I check status of my request?

Your new Service Provider will inform you by SMS, when your number is successfully ported. This might take up to 7 days (Monday to Friday).

the Opt in for transfering the phone number to the new provider has been set.

The new provider can now request the import of the phone number.
