o2 Prepaid - tariffs, packs and options

Basic tariff O₂ Prepaid 

If you choose an O₂ prepaid SIM card, you will automatically start on the O₂ Prepaid Basic tariff. This basic plan is especially suitable if you only use your phone occasionally – mainly for calls and text messages – and mobile data is not a priority for you.

The big advantage: there is no monthly base fee and no minimum usage requirement. You only pay for what you actually use. Calls and SMS are charged at 9 cents per minute or message within Germany.

As soon as you use mobile data, a dayflat is automatically activated. The price is EUR 1,49/day . You will get 150 MB at high speed, after which the speed is reduced. This is sufficient for occasional browsing, but not ideal for regular use. 

If you need more data or convenience, you can switch to one of the monthly prepaid plans at any time. These include an all-net flat rate for calls and SMS within Germany, as well as a fixed data allowance.

Monthly prepaid plans (billed every 4 weeks)

All plans offer speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s. Once your data volume is used, the speed will be reduced.

Alternatively, you can stay on the 9 ct tariff and book data packs when needed. These are especially useful if you only require additional data occasionally and prefer to stay flexible.

Important to know

the monthly plans renew automatically every 4 weeks – but only if you have sufficient credit. If your balance is too low, you will automatically fall back to the 9-cent tariff. In that case, the standard charges and the daily data flat rate will apply again.

For those who prefer a longer-term option, there are also annual plans. These are charged once per year and continue automatically without requiring cancellation.

Tariff change

You can change your tariff at any time easily via your Meino2 account, the Meino2 app, via SMS or short codes. Please note that incompatible add-ons may be lost when switching tariffs.
