Hello, I need an IPv4 address for my mobile o2 which I use for a home office. I cannot use currently Parsec as it seems that I’m behind carrier-grade NAT. Is it possible?

If it is not a pre paid contract it is possible for 49,99€ one time fee.

To get a public IP. After that U have to change to netpublic the APN and restart your device.

If it is OK than answer, and if U have more than one SIM than tell the 3 last numbers.

@schluej Thanks for your reply! One thing to clarify before: I’m using mobile phone as a hotspot, so will it work also in this case? And could you please tell in more details where exactly to change APN settings there?

Would I need just to type netpublic here?

A phone is not the best wlan router for that use. The main thing is that port forwarding is not supported in the best way. Port forwarding is needed to direct a incoming connection to a device in the local network.

You could get apps to do that on android and iPhone.

Should then buying HomeSpot LTE solve that issue?

I thing that’s the better way for what you like to do.

Check that the Router is supporting port forwarding, most router will do it.

@schluej well, I tried to order O2 my Home S (LTE), but I’m getting error that it’s not accessible on my address where I live, but I don’t really understand why, if it’s LTE? Also I’m using LTE mobile hotspot right now on the same address.

The My Home LTE is not on any location available. And ! U could only use it on your home address.

Hm, okay. I need that option asap, so I guess my only option is to enable IP4V for my account, set netpublic APN on the phone hotspot and use port forwarding app. I found a couple of them so far. Could we try all this flow then? I would need your assist for port forwarding rules though.

Hello @aol ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

When I checked the number that your account is connected to, it came up as a prepaid contract. As schluej already said in his initial post, the public IPv4 address is not avaiable for prepaid, we can only activate it in the case of a postpaid contract. Is there another contract with us?

Kind regards, Sven

Hello, I don’t have any other contract, but is it possible to activate to my current not prepaid contract for a one time fee?
