o2 Home Spot Unlimited: poor connection

Dear all,

I have used o2 Homespot Unlimited for one years and have bad experience with it. The average speed I got is usually 5-7Mbps. And it always connect to the wrong Cell tower. Is there any way to set it to connect to a fix Cell tower for better speed?

This is the best connection I could have (after reset a few times), about 10Mbps down and 1.89Mbps up

Most of the time, it will change to other Cell ID starting with 2xxxxxxxx with absolute terible down and up speed ( 0.94Mbps download and 2.86 Mbps upload)

I don’t expect to have 30 or 50Mbps like the review from other o2 Homespot, but at least give me a stable speed about 10-15Mbps. It’s very frustrating to work from home and I live in Frankfurt am Main ( there is noway it has bad signal than other rural area).

Please help me to have a stable network to work from home.

Have you ever tried to place your homespot in other places in the apartment? It works best if you position it at a window in the direction of the desired base station. An external outdoor antenna may also be helpful. This would then also have to be placed in the corresponding direction of the desired base station.

nach einem hart gedrückten Reset. Ich konnte mich mit der Schnittstelle des Gigacube-Routers verbinden.

Muss ich etwas tun, damit ich stabile LTE Band 1 habe ?

Gerne, also die Internetverbindung besteht jetzt mit dem Huawei B818 oder? :blush:

Wie sind jetzt die Download / Uploadwerte? (ohne jetzt etwas zu verändern) Sind deine Datenraten vielleicht bereits jetzt brauchbarer geworden? :grinning:

Nachdem ich mir den neuen Gigacube B818-260 (150€) gekauft habe und die Frequenz Band 1 als Standard eingestellt habe, hier mein Ergebnis vom Testen.

Positiv: Um ehrlich zu sein, zum ersten Mal seit ich o2 Home Spot Unlimited benutze, konnte ich die Up 25-40Mbits sehen ( mit dem alten o2 Adapter konnte ich das beste erreichen ist 16Mbits). Das hat mir zum ersten Mal etwas Hoffnung gemacht.

Nachteile: Es ist nur von 23 Uhr oder später bis früh morgens 7-8 Uhr möglich (wenn ich schlafe). Tagsüber ist die Geschwindigkeit wieder auf "normal" (Upload 3-8Mbits).

Ich bin kein Techniker, daher kann ich nicht sagen, ob etwas nicht stimmt (Überlastung der Station, Drosselung mit meiner Sim-Karte ?)
