Verification code

Hello,

I am unable to log in to my "Mein O2" account because the system will not send a verification code to my mobile number. Also most of the O2 stores are useless and rude, they say that they have no access to the prepaid, asking me questions like “Why are you using prepaid card”.

The Issue:

  • I have tried the password reset process multiple times, but no SMS arrives.

  • I have checked my phone settings (Premium SMS is enabled, no blocks).

  • Crucial Detail: I visited an O2 shop, and the employee(Finally a decent one) there was able to send an "Employee PIN" to my phone successfully. This proves my SIM and the network connection are working.

The Problem: Despite my SIM working, the automated web-portal/app system is failing to route verification codes to me. Because I cannot log in, I cannot manage my contract or see my bills.

Hello and first of all: welcome to our community @sojourner 🌸

I’m sorry that our shops left a negative impression, but i’m glad that at least someone was able to provide support for you there, even if it didn’t solve the issue.

Being able to check your bills and book options is crucial for a prepaid-card. Has it worked before, or have you never been able to log in so far due to the SMS code not arriving?

If the card is still new, have you registered it for Mein o2?

Kind regards, Rebecca

Hello Rebecca,

Yes, I have been using this card for a year now. I have never had problem when logging into the O2 app, in fact that’s how I always activated my packages and topped up my credits. I used to check everything bills and package options from there. I have been trying to log in to the app over a week. I never got a verification code. I wanted to change my bank, but I can’t because I can’t log in. Therefore I couldn’t activate a new package.

I was forced to change my service provider because I couldn’t get a simple service from O2 as even the English speaking hotline was transferring me to the German speaking customer service. I am still keeping my O2 card, because I am expecting calls from that number.

Regards,
