upfront payment not refunded


Sorry for English. 

 

I applied for a contract with o2, I received an email stating *we can give you the device, you just have to pay a higher amount upfront*

 

A couple days later before the deadline I paid as I missed the email at first. It was €234.99

 

Then I receive an email from

bonitaet@telefonica.com

Asking for proof of iban or some other nonsense. This upset may (sorry if that's silly) as I already provided Information when applying for it and was told I'd get the phone after paying the higher fee. So I just cancelled it (june 30th) and I still haven't received the money back yet. I phoned o2 last week but the guy said something like he can't see the payment, then just said I'd have to wait 14 days.

That is not so nice that you still have to wait for this significant amount to be retunred to you.

From here we cannot see your data set, as you are registered with a prospect account not linked to a contract.

Do you have a contract with which you can register via a Mein o2 customer account?

Sorry I just saw. I never made an o2 account. I just made one here so I could get help as o2 on email and phone are not helpful. I have zero hope anymore, twenty days will be up this Monday and the fact I don't have money this close makes me think I never will get it. It makes me very sad


Also the contract like I say was cancelled before device or anything was shipped so I couldn't link an account anyway :( all I have is the order number, and the arn transaction number for the money I paid from n26

You will get the money back, but o2 is very slow. Legally they must return it within 14 days but there are reports of it sometimes taking 3 - 4 weeks.

How did you pay the deposit? By card or by transfer?


I paid with my n26 debit card online. Is it 14 days? Well then it's already past that :'(

Yes, your payment will be returned, ​@SecretAgentRandyBeans, just, as bs0 writes it takes some time.

Without possible access to a data set where the revoked order is entered, from here we cannot try tgo speed up the process via a ticket.

It is not possible to help you here further. You also should not post these numbers in a public forum. You could try using the contact form or call the English-speaking hotline. If you use the contract you can set a deadline after which you could request a Chargeback through N26. You could do that straight away as the 14 days have passed but it MasterCard will expect you to try to resolve the matter with the merchant first.
