Simcard regularly connects to internet

Hi O2 team,

Even though I'm connected to the Wifi and shut my mobile connection, I keep getting these messages from O2 that my phone is connected to the internet by itself and they are charging me 0.99 cents. This has happened more than 10 times and I want all the money taken from my account unfairly to be returned. These are all the dates that this has happened;

07.12, 06.12, 05.12, 23.05, 24.04, 18.03, 17.03, 16.03, 15.03.22

15.05.21, 11.12.20, 05.11.20, 17.06.20, 14.06.20, 09.04.20, 07.04.20,

Best regards,

Dilara

Hello @Eluria and welcome to our o2 community :-)

If a mobile phone is connected to a wifi network this does not automatically means that it will not also connect to a mobile network. Modern phones offer several features and settings and sometimes also special apps that will access a mobile network even if a wifi connection is establihed. There may even be malware that totally ignores any settings that a user makes.

Since we do neither have access to your phone nor lies it in our responsibility to make sure that a device is set up in the way that you want it to be we will not be able to offer a refund.

A possibility to avoid the phone accessing the mobile internet would for example be to remove the SIM card or ask the customer service if blocking the mobile internet would be a possibility.

Regards,

Lars

Hi Lars, thank you for the reply. Is it possible for that auto connection service to be turned off?

Best,

Dilara

Hello @Eluria ,

as Lars already said, that depends on the phone and the apps that you are using. We can only offer to completely bar your contract from using mobile data at all.

Kind regards, Sven
