Roaming

I was traveling recently and I received a huge bill of 167 euros even though I made calls in the EU region.

My family was traveling from India and had international roaming activated on their phones. I made several calls to their phone thinking it is a local call given they are in the EU still O2 charged me 167 euros. My usual bill is 50 euros. How can I contest that? I do not want to pay this amount as I don’t think it is fair.

Wenn du eine indische Rufnummer mit einer deutschen SIM-Karte anrufst, ist das immer ein Anruf ins Ausland.

When you call an Indian number with a German SIM, it's always a call abroad.

But the funny thing is the amount they have charged is of a local german call 1euro per minute.

i think to an Indian number the amount should be higher and if the Indian number is on EU, does that not make it a local call which is already included in my tariff?

Hi @38akash86 ,

Sächsin is right: Calls from a german SIM to an indian number are always billed as calls to india, I’m afraid.

As for the pricing: according to our pricing overview, calls to numbers in that specific zone (Weltzone 3) cost 1,19 € per Minute. Your bill will most likely show 1 €, since it only shows the connections and the prices without taxes (19%).

Best regards,
Kurt
