Hello, i would like to inquire about the cancellation process. In 11 days, i will be leaving Germany because of an urgent family matter and i wont be going back here so i decided to cancel my 24 month contract. I have filled a form regarding the contract cancellation and have recieved an email from impressum@cc.o2online.de regarding the cancellation. There are several documents that they told me to sent to them. One of them is the abmelden. I just moved to a new city here in Germany this week, to make it simple, i havent done the anmelden therefore i cant give the abmelden, because i have 14 days to do it. I was worried that this process would take too long because of the time limit i currently have, is it possible to pay the whole amount of the rest of my contract before i moved, which is 345 Euros (23*15 euros) so you could terminate it early.

Hello @Starmine_09,
welcome to our o2 Community
In case the local authorities in your current place in Germany cannot send you the Abmeldebescheinigung to your new place of living or to an address of friends where they can receive it, you can transfer the amount of the fees to Hypo Vereinsbank AG IBAN: DE 16 7002 0270 0005 7131 53 BIC: HYVEDEMMXXX with your o2 Kundennummer/account number as reference.
But you should still check your bills via your Mein o2 account.
Best Regards,
Gerrit
Hello Gerrit, Hypothetically, if i feel that the time is too tight and i couldn’t cancel the contract in time using the normal method. I will transfer the full amount to the said IBAN, But i have several questions;
Where should i sent the proof of transaction and my contract details to? (so they knew im transferring sufficent amount to o2) Will the cancellation took place before the next payment? or it’ll be cancelled instantly after the confirmation (i’m afraid that it’ll get double charged) Is transferring to the said account is in the legal terms and conditions in o2?
The best solution would be if it would be possible for you timewise to de-register with the local registration office as you then can move on to cancellation of your contract.
Without that the cancellation can only take place at the end of the 24 months as the colleagues have now set up.
When you transfer you get a credit balance from which the monthly fees will then be deducted for the upcoming almost 2 years, which is less than perfect and you have to check your bills in case the sum you transferred does not cover every amount.
Best Regards,
Gerrit
I have booked a Termin for my abmelden tuesday 17th next week. I'm thinking about resubmitting the form of cancellation with all of the required documents hoping the contract cancellation will be processed faster and more efficiently before the 22nd. Is it possible by doing what m I've stated above?
If I had submitted all the required documents along with the form, should I still send the physical documents with the post. I'm worried that it won't arrive in time considering my departure.
Hello @Starmine_09 ,
do you have any means to scan the documents? You could then use the Kontaktformular to pass on the information digitally instead of waiting on sending the documents as a letter.
Kind regards, Sven
Noted. I’ve recieved a reply from the said email “impressum@cc.o2online.de” regarding the termination of the contract. if anymore question arise, then i will ask here. Thanks for the reply so far
Hello @Starmine_09,
great that you have an appointment for deregistering, then you can send the necessary documents scanned to us, best via the Kontaktformular.
If any questions arise, please do ask them here for us as well
Best Regards,
Gerrit
Hello, today i just sent the abmeldenbestatigung to the said email above and got “automatische Eingangsbestätigung”
So far I havent recieved any reply. I knew that it’s usually take a while to reply to email, but i just wanted to make sure, did the people in o2 have recieved my email regarding my abmelden documents?
Hello @Starmine_09,
I checked, your Abmeldebestätigung has arrived with us
I have informed the colleagues of our special department in order for them to proceed your cancellation.
Best Regards,
Gerrit
Hello Gerrit, Thank you for the confirmation! I will be waiting for the reply from your side
May I know when will the contract be cancelled? An estimation will also be great, since I am planning to close my German bank account too before leaving.
Hello @Starmine_09,
if your contract ends within the current bill period 08.09.2024 - 07.10.2024, then the last debit will take place on 18.10.2024. So you would need to change the way of payment in your customer account and then check the bill which is going to be issued on 11.10.2024 and then transfer the amount of this bill to Hypo Vereinsbank AG IBAN: DE 16 7002 0270 0005 7131 53 BIC: HYVEDEMMXXX, taking the “Kundennummer” as reference. This number is also the reference of our debits from your current bank account.
Best Regards,
Gerrit
So, when i got the bill I could transfer the amount to the said account with the costumer number as reference. With the said reference, they won't debit it again from my bank then?
Is that what you meant?
@Starmine_09 Only when you change the payment method after the debit of the current bill from debit to “Überweisung” - bank transfer. Then the next bill will not be debited but you can make a transfer
Best Regards,
Gerrit
Hello, it was stated that my contract will end today, could someone re confirm it? I opened the o2 website and it didnt load anything? (i think its because the contract will end today?) i opened from the o2 mobile app and it displays the next billing period and now im concerned
Hello @Starmine_09,
your contract has ended, did you change your payment method from direct debit to transfer or is it still on direct debit?
