Pre-as-you-go mobile contract cancellation - left Germany


Hi - I have a pay-as-you-go SIM and have left Germany. In the move I didn’t cancel the phone and now it’s costing me €40 Euro a month. How do I cancel the contract please, and is there a way to get any money refunded for non use (basic contract and monthly top up that I’d set up). Can I email someone my Abmeldung as proof ? Thanks.

What exactly do you mean with a pay-as-you-go SIM?

Maybe a prepaid tariff?

prepaid tariffs can be canceled immediately.

You can send us a cancellation via post:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG

Kundenbetreuung

90345 Nürnberg

You can also fill out a online-form for cancellation.

If you have credit on your tariff, you can fill out the form for the credit payout.

I am not sure if a refund can be given. After more information from you, we can check it.

Maybe you have a automatic top-up via SEPA-Payment?

Packs are automatically renewed when there is sufficient credit.

Thank you. I tried the link to the online form but it wouldn’t send. Tried it a number of different times. I’ve printed the other form and sent in the post so i hope that works.

I am sorry, I think the online form is only for postpaid tariffs because you need a costumer number.

Right now I cannot see any letter from you about the cancellation of your prepaid sim.

When exactly did you sent it to us? On the 23.08?

Hi. Yes I posted it on 22.08 but from UK so it may take a week. If you have an email I can send you my ‘Abmeldung’  - Stupidly I didn’t take a photo of the form or letter I sent. Attached is proof of letter postage. Thanks. Simon

the document for the “Abmeldung” is not necessary.

Your prepaid tariff will be deactivated immediately upon arrival of the cancellation

I will take a look in the system in the next days and write to you when the termination is there.😊

I have good news:

Everything is already cancelled/terminated, your sim is locked.

Your credit will be payed out to your bank account.😊

So everything necessary is done finally 😉
