Warum O2

Hi. I have decided to switch from prepaid o2 to contract/post-paid o2. When filling out the online form to conclude the contract, I indicated that I want to keep the old prepaid number. A few days later, I received a SIM without number. I activated it online. However, the SIM does not work and shows “no signal” when I put it in the phone. Meanwhile, the old SIM still works, using the prepaid plan.

What should I do for the new SIM to work with my old number? Are there any additional steps? Or do I just have to wait longer? On the website it says that the card is activated.

Thank you!

Dear @GennWhite ,

welcome in our community. :beetle:

the SIM card you received should have its own phone number. Have you already activated the SIM card and then restarted your mobile phone?
You can order a porting to your new mobile phone contract at the hotline. Unfortunately, porting between the o2 brands is only possible on the hotline.

Kind regrads,

Andrea

Dear Andrea,

Thank you. However, the SIM is without a number, as I requested from the start the porting of the number. I’ve started the activation process, but it got stuck at the moment where I should receive the SMS with the phone number.

I reached out to the support team today and they opened a ticket with the technical department. Let’s see if they figure out a solution.

Hello @GennWhite,

as soon as you have received feedback, you can let us know here how it looks! :nerd:

Kind regards
Jessica
