Hi @ukguy,

every German landline number starts with an area code. This means that the first few numbers depent on the city you are living in.

You have to connect a normal phone to your o2 HomeSpot router to use the landline number. Please have in mind that you can only call other German landline numbers for free. If you call a mobile number you will have to pay.

I don’t unterstand your first question. It is a landline number. Every contract includes one. You can’t boil an egg with it

Kind regards,
Alex

Hi Alex

Thanks for your replay.

Have a nice day.

Hi @ukguy

welcome back to our English Community. Thanks for your request concerning the included landline-number in your homespot-tariff.

Did @MXP_Alex answer all your questions? I had to laugh when I read the sentence:

You can’t boil an egg with it

Your landline-number is only beneficial for incoming calls. Just imagine that somebody who calls you does not have a mobile phone-flatrate. With many DSL-tariffs a mobile phone-flatrate is not so common. In this case, you can give the person you landline-number so that the person can call you for free.

I hope I could help you with this information.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hi Tobias. I had to laugh too at

You can't boil an egg with it

I love German Humour its quite “ Dry” and to the point. Sadly German humour is lost in Translation! As you all know the English humour is rather crazy ! But I  love The German and English cultures , Makes life more interesting.

Tobias thanks for the additional information.

Next question what phone do you recommend to connect to the Homespot ?

Will I need some kind of adapter ?
