Number Porting to O2

Hello, I submitted a request to O2 for porting of my number from LYCA. The request was made to LYCA on 3rd of December and I contacted O2 via phone on 4th to get my number ported. However, it is 29th of December and there is no action yet. Please advise, Thank you.

Why did you contact o2? The new provider is requesting the number porting. Is it for immediate porting or for porting at the end of the contract?

I am moving my number from Lyca to O2. I contacted Lyca first to initiate the request to release the number, I contacted O2 then to have my lyca number ported to O2.

Is the o2 contract already active?

Yes, I got a phone with contract and a new sim. The contract was active from 29th November.

Then register the temporary phone number for Mein o2 and request the number porting online.

I have the Mein o2 app registered. I went to a O2 store and the guy asked me to either request porting from mein o2 app or via a phone call. I called o2 the next day and the operator submitted my request and told that it would take 8 working days.

He apparently didn't do that. Therefore, commission it yourself.

Could you already order the porting of your number and if so get a confirmation from us?

So what happened is that I applied for porting via Mein O2 and got a message that I will receive a date for porting. Moments later I got a message from lyca that port out request has been rejected due to request too late. I contacted lyca and they said that they will make a request again within 24 hours. An hour later I got an email and text from O2 that my number will be ported on 7th January. Its all a bit confusing now, I guess I will wait for 7th and hope it goes through.

If your transfer date of January 7, 2026, has been confirmed, then it will work. You will receive confirmation of the successful transfer via SMS and email. Afterwards, restart your smartphone.
