Money in Account Gone

Hello,

I topped off my O2 account with 20€ before leaving for a business trip outside of the EU. I got a prepaid Data only SIM card in the other country and turned off my O2 SIM card for the duration of the 2 week trip.
I returned and my account balance is now at 0,08€. My statement shows the + 20€ top off but no reduction from data plans/sms/calls.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hello @maggie12, thank you for writing us.
Before you topped up your account, have you checked that there were no package waiting for toppup to be activated?

kindly regards
Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your reply, sorry for the delay. There was no package waiting for toppup to be activated, my package renewed the week prior.

On July 4th I received a message that I had 26.88 €, this is when I added the money to the account. I left Germany the 8th and on July 9th it was all depleted.

Should I add a screenshot of my account transactions?

I just added more money today, as my german data package renews and I do not have any funds.

Thank you!

Hello @maggie12 ,

thanks for your explanation. 😊

I took a look in the system and I can see here that on the 09.07. there was a internet connection abroad (outside of EU).

This is the reason why your balance was so low afterwards. There was not much MB used, but nonetheless the using abroad is very expensive.

Your o2 my Prepaid Data Pack endet on the 01.07.

Do you have further questions? Iam happy to help you!

Best regards,

Manuela

Hi Manuela,

That is what I suspected was the issue, but I turned off the data for my O2 card/used airport wifi (or at least, I thought I did) until I got my other SIM card.

Thanks for looking into it though!

Hello @maggie12,

next time, make sure that roaming is switched off in your device and that mobile data is also switched off. That's what I do, for example, just to be on the safe side. 😊

Kind regards
Jessi
