Issue with forced insurance and contract cancellation support english

Hello,

I went to an O2 store to get a phone along with a SIM card. However, the store employee insisted that I purchase a €17 insurance. When I said I didn’t want the insurance, they told me “You cannot buy the phone without insurance,” and pressured me to buy it. As a result, I decided not to buy the phone.

I still needed the SIM card. Another employee told me, “Take the SIM now, you can get the phone later.” Later, when I contacted the call center, I was informed that I could have purchased the phone without insurance and that I should go to a store to request a contract cancellation.

I went to a different store, where they had me fill out a form and send it by email to cancel the contract. They also explained that buying the phone with the SIM would have been cheaper, and that purchasing insurance was not mandatory.

I kindly request your support with this matter. If my SIM contract is canceled, I would like to purchase a phone with the SIM through O2 again.

Thank you for your help,

Why do you want to cancel? You can always order a smartphone separately.

Because with smartphone it was more cheaper and there was chatgpt membership. Because of that problem I couldn't take this advantage as well. I just need help to remake it.

Then contact the shop where you made the purchase; only they can resolve the issue.

Hello @ysbildirici,

welcome to our o2 Community 🙂

Bumer gave the riught advice, contracts made in one of our shops do not fall under the right for revocation, therefore you can only ask in the shop where you made the mobile contract if they can revoke it.

Indeed, an insurance is not necessary for an order.

Please keep us updated here as well 🙂

Best Regards,

Gerrit
