HomeSpot New Firmware - May 2020 - No Internet

Benutzerebene 1

I’ve noticed today my internet is broken. The usual restart did not help as usual.

Checking the router I found the firmware was updated (it was not the best idea to let it update automatically).

In the settings I discovered “DE_g34.0_RTL0080.D112.DE.21.13.109 [2020-05-12 06:44:16]”.

Restart does not help to fix the internet. All the settings were showing like it is all ok. But it was not ok.

The settings reset was helpfult to recover the internet (and re-configure router quickly). All setting were looking OK, but internet was not working.

Me too! Reboot and wait, took me a few hours.

Hi @jonnyzzz ,

just to check if I got this right:

The revert back to factory Settings did work and you´re now back online?

Hello,

Settings reset from the router UI helps to restore the connection.

Nice, thanks for your reply!

My Router did the Update automatically, I haven´t even noticed the downtime to be honest (it may have been in the middle of the night). Thanks for your workaround and your feedback, by the way!

You may also want to set your answer to "Als Lösung markieren” in order set it as the best answer. This way, other users will notice your answer much quicker.

Hello,

I can’t find “Settings reset” option in the UI. The only similar option that is available in the menu is “restore device to its factory settings”. Is this what helped you to fix the problem?

Best Regards

Hi @Akrob ,

that´s how understood it, to.

Have you managed to restore the connection?

Hi @o2_Kurt,

Yes, I was able to restore internet connection.

First I did restart of the router by switching it Off and On from power feed but it didn’t help. The status of “Mobile Connection” in the “Quick Setting” menu was shown ‘Not connected’.

Then  I clicked on Connection button (the button with symbol of two counter directional arrows) and then after few seconds the connection status has changed to ‘Connected’

Best regards,

Akrob

I decided to roll back to the previous version of the HomeSpot router firmware.

I see that the “DE_g34.0_RTL0080.D112.DE.21.13.109 [2020-05-12 06:44:16]” is less stable, it works, but connections seems to be less stable all the time.

Now I’m back to the “DE_g34.0_RTL0080.D112.DE.21.13.108 [2019-11-25 17:40:15]”

Furthermore - the “109” version is no longer listed, was it removed from the update?

Hi @jonnyzzz,

thanks for your request.

If you downgraded again to the old version 108, it is quite possible that you do not find again the update for the new version 109 as we do not roll out the new version at the moment.

By the way, we do not suggest to go back to the old version 108 as this version is also not working stable.

Please wait until we roll out a new version that is working properly. Our technicians work hard to solve all the issues.

Loving greetings,

Tobias
