Hey,

I am writing on behalf of my friend.
i make it short. 2-year sim card contract, which ends August, 2025. Due to some issues, sim card is not necessary anymore. What is the best solution here. Is it possible to cancel contract earlier, even if with additional fee?

thanks

There is no possibility to terminate a contract early for the reasons stated. Maybe your friend can find someone else who would like to take over the contract?

Hello and welcome to the community @Tycan.💙

Premature termination of the contract is generally not possible, except in specific exceptional cases.

Could you please provide the exact date when the contract was concluded, and would you be willing to share with us the specific reason why this contract is no longer needed?

Thank you very much and kind regards 😊

Steffen

Hey @o2_Steffen ,

thanks for your reply.
The first contract made on July 26, 2023. Technically he has 2 active sim card from o2 right now and this is the main reason to cancel either of them. Other financial issues as well to pay both simultaneously as a student (he has other contracts like wifi, phone from 02, which are giving paid at the moment). Could you please help us here? It would be great if you could help to cancel one of the phone number contracts ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Tycan

FYI: i wanted to take over one of the contacts to support him, but we informed by a branch assistant that I have to pay whole contract amount, not 50 percent as indicated in original contract, even if i have the same 50 percent personal discount code from my work place for o2 sim cards. Is there any way out?

As much as i know, if someone take over the number, he should pay the whole amount of contract, no discounts applicable.

Hello @Tycan,

as far as I understand, your friend has a contract with so-called “Kombi-Vorteil” (combination benefit). Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to take over one part of the contract and keep the advantage since there would be no combination. That’s why you would have to pay the whole amount without discount.

The discount code from your employer is something else and has nothing to do with these combination contracts and can therefore not be combined.

After the revocation period has expired, you can only terminate the contract at the end of the term or extraordinarily. Unfortunately, the reasons you have given do not apply to extraordinary termination.

You can try to find a private solution. Maybe you can use your friends SIM card and pay him a part of the price back. This is just one suggestion that came to my mind. 😊

Kind regards

Lea
