Contract extension options after sending out cancellation.
Hi,
Last week i sent out fax for cancelation of my contract, in good time. My contract would be ending in November 2020. A representative called me with some offers but I would like to wait another two months to see if I can get a good deal on the phone that I like. At the moment I would like to let the contract termination take effect and would like to have a confirmation from O2.
My question is:
“ Would be possible just before the end of my contract (say 2 weeks before) to extend it, with a same number, with a similar conditions as now (o2 free M) for a better price than now. Even after O2 confirmed my contract cancellation application?”
Thank you in advance.

Hi @ami you can extend your contract at any time before it expires. To which conditions we can only tell you exactly when the time comes, because they can change daily :)
So if you want us to make you an offer, let us know when it's time, and we'll see what we can do together with you :)
Best, Alina
Thank you @o2_Alina
The guy on the phone said he will send a confirmation of cancelation by email. However, I have not got any. My cancelation was faxed on 29.07.2020. Is it possible to get confirmation?
Hi @ami ,
you'll definitely get your confirmation, don't worry about that. It can take up to 14 days after registration. So be patient a little longer :)
Best, Alina
Dear @ami ,
would you like to have an offer for a contract extension already now (starting immediately or the next day after we receive it) or would you like to wait until the end of your contract period (please contact us in time, because it is always possible that you have to wait a few days until we can answer)?
Kind regards,
Andrea
Hi @ami,
until now, we did not get a response from you.
You can check your offers at any time under this link: http://g.o2.de/vvl Certainly, you will find there already a good offer for extension.
If you have any further questions, just feel free to contact us here in our English community.
Loving greetings,
Tobias
Thank you @o2_Tobias and @o2_Alina. I would like to look for an offer in October mid either for an extension or for a new contract. I am still waiting for confirmation of the cancellation at this point.
Hi @ami,
of course, I understand that you need your cancellation confirmation.
As @o2_Alina already told you, we need to wait for 14 days, until we can address our cancellation department.
Just feel free to contact us again, if you do not receive any confirmation until the end of this week.
We are happy to help you also with an offer for extension in October.
Loving greetings,
Tobias
Hi @o2_Tobias
Have got a cancellation confirmation email a few weeks back.
However got a call from o2 asking if i want to keep my number, and i said i would like to have some offer to extend. The guy mentioned there arent any good offers and since my contract was not with O2 but from saturn, he cant make a competitive offer. He also mentioned that he is making my number available “frei geben”. What does this mean?
Does this “frei geben” costs me even in case i dont take my number after my contract ends? In a few weeks i want to look for possible extention offers with o2 itself. If you have good offers at least with same conditions as now, please write to me a personal message pls. Thank you.
Hi @ami,
good that you received a cancellation confirmation.
No, don´t worry, until now, you did not make anything wrong. There will also be no charge. I guess that the “guy” did not hold his promise to release your number in order that you can transfer your number to another provider.
But before you leave us, let us check together if we can find an interesting offer for extension for you.
How much data-volume do you need?
Would you like to order a new device as well? Please see the list of our devices here: http://g.o2.de/handyohnetarif
We look forwad to your reply.
Loving greetings,
Tobias

Ami
Dear @ami ,
I have sent you an offer for your phone number xxx 067 for the o2 Free o2 Free M Boost with 40 GB data volume to your email address you have entered in our database. There are no tariff change fees for you! Is this something for you? If you like the offer, you can order it directly via the link in the email, just click on the button in the email "Vertrag verlängern".
In accordance with the Transparency Regulation, I would like to draw your attention to our product information sheets, which you can download at www.o2.de/produktinformationsblatt. There you will find all product details listed again (without discounts).
Kind regards, Andrea
Hi @o2_Andrea
Thank you for the offer by email. Do you have a cheaper option for 20GB a month?
Also in case, I decide to change the service provider, could I take the number with me?
Thank you
Regards
Amitha
Hi @o2_Andrea
I see in O2.de website that for o2 customers the following offer
Is it possible to have this? I would like to have an additional sim to use the data, is it included or would cost more?
thank you
Hi @ami,
thanks for contacting us here again.
The screenshot is for a second new contract. Only then will you receive a 50% discount on your basic fee.
As you mentioned that you would like to activate a multicard (second sim with the same number), the tariff “o2 Free M Boost” with 40 GB is the better choice as the activation and the multicard is included in this tariff. @o2_Andrea has already given you an offer concerning this tariff. I have just sent it again to you by e-mail. A better price is not possible.
Pursuant to the decree of transparency I need to inform you about our tariff leaflets which you can download here: http://g.o2.de/travo. There you'll find all details of the product listed.
If you like to accept this offer, just feel free to click on the button “Vertrag verlängern” in the e-mail.
Loving greetings,
Tobias
Hi @o2_Tobias
Thank you for the offer, it looks a bit expensive for me.
Can I take my current number (from o2) to another service provider? what must I do for number portability and how much would it cost.
Dear @ami ,
yes, you can take your phone number with you to another provider. Please do not forget to cancel your current contract. Your number must be released for porting. This release is valid for one month. Should I order this for you? Number porting costs 6.82 Euro once.
