Community Rules - Community members giving out private information.

This Is  for the attention  of O2 / Community Mods

This community has rules. These rules I’ve seen seen only in the German ( Deutsch ) forum.

Lately I've seen a few posts with private information such as full mobile phone numbers. parts of contract numbers, PLZ  or sim numbers and so on.

Though the moderators  removes the information in a timely manner  sometime can go by before the mods makes the edits.

The problem is Google indexes everything posted in this community forum in real time.

Soon as a number is given out Google has already indexed the information and is available in the Google cache.

I see the problem. Members are not fully aware of the community rules due to the language differences.

Can someone post the most important rules here in English ? and add to the community main page so the information is always visible.

I’m on line most of the time , late at night too. I see the mobile numbers posted but I can’t do nothing about it.

It would probably be a good idea to have the rules available in English as well, the biggest problem, however, is that many people simply don't read them. Not posting personal data online is something you should not need rules for nowadays though, and I find it shocking that this happens so often (also by German speakers, even though there is a text specifically stating not to do so when you post a new topic).

Hello @ukguy,

it’s definitely a very good idea to translate those rules in English as well!

As @bs0 has mentioned I guess many people will still send their messages containing personal data, but it might help to have it in English for english speaking customers. At least it could be a help!

I will upload something in English within the next days! Thank you for the hint.

Best regards

@o2_Jessica Hi Jessi. :slight_smile:

I know people don’t read the rules and I understand your and @bs0 thoughts on this.

In real life most people doesn't read rules too  (or instruction books in my case ) I’m guilty  of not reading instruction book to my cost. I ended up breaking my FRITZ LTE router.  Oh but that's another story…

I look forward to seeing the rules in English.

At least some rules would be a point of reference and would help in the event of a dispute in the community.

Hi @ukguy

as promised by @o2_Jessica here is the Netiquette in English:

Oh, you already saw it.

Loving greetings,

Tobias
