Cancel Contract already moved abroad without the abmeldung certificate

Hey,

I want to cancel my o2 mobile contract, i sent a email to impressum@cc.o2online.de, they are asking me to send these,

- the de-registration confirmation for your previous place of residence
- the registration certificate for your new place of residence abroad
- As an alternative to the registration certificate, a confirmation from your employer or landlord
- Your consent to the invoicing of the basic fee of 3 months (total EUR 89.97)

  1. I have no problem with the basic 3 month fee and give my consent to it.
  1. I have moved to my country where i am a citizen and do not plan to come back to Germany in the future, unfortunately i moved back home on 1st August 2021 in a hurry due to health issues in the family so i could not deregister and do not have certificate needed.
  1. I have my Flight tickets, my boarding passes and a letter from my landlord which states that i have moved out of the country, along with this i can send you a letter from the housing society which proves my residence here at home.

Please guide me further.

Regards,

Nakul Kamat

2. If you are still registered in Germany then you will not be able to terminate the contract early. In any case you should contact the authorities in your previous place of residence to ask them how you can deregister in writing.

i have a Letter from my previous place of residence about my contract with them and then i left the country. i have flight tickets and the rental contract period for that time

okay i understand, i have applied for the deregistration and will send it to you guys later.

apart from this i got a email from o2 that if i dont respond to the email they will auto terminate my contract on 17th May 2022

Please verify this.

My number is 17620928924

This is the email i received from them.

Please guide in the right direction.

if there is any way that i dont need to get the de registration and my contract is cancelled then please do so because it is a big hasstle for me to get the abmeldung at this stage in time where i am in another country.

The email goes like this,

Hello Nakul Kamat,

Thank you very much for your email.

It's a shame that you want to end your contract. I was happy to take a look at your concerns.

If you move abroad permanently, we will of course be happy to accommodate you and terminate your contract early. For this we need copies of the following documents:

- the de-registration confirmation for your previous place of residence
- the registration certificate for your new place of residence abroad
- As an alternative to the registration certificate, a confirmation from your employer or landlord
- Your consent to the invoicing of the basic fee of 3 months (total EUR 89.97)

Simply fill out the document and send it signed along with the proof copies to our address:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
Customer care
90345 Nuremberg

As soon as we have the documents, we will terminate your contract early. If we don't hear from you on this matter, we will terminate your contract on May 17th, 2022.

Cell phone costs incurred, e.g. B. Your managed connections and the pro rata basic fee will be invoiced up to this date. You will therefore still receive invoices after the end of the contract. Please refer to your invoice for the billing period.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

We ask you to always leave all correspondence and the subject in the email when you reply. Thank you for your help.

regards

Your o2 account manager
K. Voike

o2 always requires the deregistration certificate. In any case it is in your interest to deregister properly. If you do ever decide to return to Germany in the future not doing so could cause problems. If your contract is due to end on May 2022 anyway then it might be easier to just leave things as they are. As you have to pay three months anyway avoiding paying for the additional two months until May might not be worth the hassle. It is up to you though.

my contract ends on 01.07.2023 according to the app.

even last time i tried to terminate the contract 3 months earlier and someone from customer side told me to take a different plan because i missed informing o2 3 months before the expiry of the contract.

the problem is that since i am outside Germany i cannot call and cancel contract.

I have already applied for the deregistration but please confirm the termination on 17th may 2022

I can't confirm that as I am also a customer. This is a customers help customers forum.

If the app says July 2023 that would mean the contract started in July 2021. Did the new plan you mentioned start in July 2021?

Can you post a screenshot of the app? Without any personal data though as this is a public forum.

You can also call from outside Germany.

yeah it started in July 2021, i guess i will have to wait for the abmeldung from the bügeramt, its just that they dont reply quickly, i understand that there are a lot of things to do.

Anyway, thanks. I will wait for the Abmeldungbescheinigung and then send it to them via mail.

Thanks t=for your help. I though you were customer care.

Sorry

Hey, i just have a question.

My contract is for 24 months and its already 5 months now so the remaining is 19 months or so.

if i willing to pay the all the money for the remaining 19 months will i still require a abmeldung?

if not please give me the steps to do so.

Kind regards,

Nakul
