Buying new phone with existing o2 sim

I am an existing O2 Free M Boost Online customer, and my 24-month contract period has already expired. Since then, I have continued paying the same monthly price.

Now, I am planning to upgrade and purchase the new iPhone 17 Pro Max on contract with my current number. However, when I try to upgrade online and select a new plan, I notice that my MultiCard option is no longer included and can only be re-activated via the service center. When I contacted customer support, I was informed that the cheapest available plan with MultiCard would cost €75 per month, which is higher than I had planned for.

I would like to ask:

  1. Is there a way to upgrade my contract so that I can keep using my MultiCard while also getting the new iPhone at a reasonable rate?

  2. Why are the offers for existing customers significantly less attractive than those for new customers? This feels quite discouraging, especially as a long-time customer. I find unlimited option but it is not viable for me as I can’t have multicard in that case.

If there is no suitable solution, I am also considering porting my number to another provider. I would appreciate your insight on how to proceed in this case.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi @akshun

welcome to our community. Pleasure to meet you here.

Could you please give us more details about the tariff you would like to take?

Did I get you right you still need the Connect Option included?

Greetings

Manga

Dear o2_Manga,

I am currently using the O2 Free M Boost plan, which provides me with 40 GB 5G data (+5 GB per year) and up to 10 MultiCards for €17.50 per month. I am very satisfied with this plan, and if it were possible to receive a new iPhone on the same plan, that would already meet my needs.

While reviewing the options under “Tarifwechsel & -verlängerung”, I found the following plan very interesting:

  • O2 Mobile Unlimited on Demand Light (2025) with 100 MBit/s

  • Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max – 256 GB Blue colour

  • Monthly cost: €49.99

If it were possible to keep my MultiCard option within this plan, it would be the best solution for me.

Could you please confirm if this adjustment is possible, or if there are alternative plans that would allow me to keep my MultiCard benefits while upgrading to the new iPhone?

Thank you very much for your support.
Have a nice day

@akshun

"If it were possible to keep my MultiCard option within this plan, it would be the best solution for me."

No, in the Unlimiteds only 2 Multicards for extra 10€ per Multicard.

Hi Bollermann,

Thank you for your quick response, I really appreciate it.

I have a couple of questions:

  1. Regarding the MultiCard option – is it €10 per MultiCard per month, or is this a one-time fee?

  2. Is the MultiCard option also available for non-unlimited plans? For example, I am interested in the following plan:

    • O2 Mobile M Plus (2024) with 60 GB +

    • Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max – 256 GB Blue colour

    • Monthly cost: €49.99

If it is possible to use the MultiCard option with this plan, I believe it would suit my needs very well.

Thanks again for your support, and I look forward to your clarification.

Best regards,

Have a nice day

@akshun

Sorry…

1. per Multicard and per month .

2. Yes. It's possible for non Unlimiteds.

But the iPhone 17 pro max with Tariff for 49,99?

I don't think so.

The iPhone only costs 1.549,00€

Monthly 43€ by 36 month + Tariff...

Hi Bollermann,

If the MultiCard option is also possible with a non-unlimited plan, then I would like to go with the following:

  • O2 Mobile M Plus (2024) with 60 GB+

  • Monthly cost: €49.99 for 36 months

I have this offer showing in my account. The only point I would like to confirm is:

  • Will the MultiCard option be included in this contract?

  • Will I need to pay anything extra, or will the final monthly cost remain €49.99?

I am attaching a screenshot for your reference. My only concern is that, on this window, it shows that the MultiConnect option will not be included and I need to contact support( unfortunately only german). However, if you confirm that I don’t need to pay anything additional and the MultiCard is included, then this is a very good offer for me, and I can proceed with the purchase right away.

Thank you for clarifying this.

Best regards,
