Hi,

I was wondering if someone can help me with this as I am not really an expert!

What does this Annex word mean? Which annex is my VDSL2 subscription knowing that my user name ends with “@s93.bbi-o2.de” so i know it VDSL2 Vectoring (ITU G.993.5) but which Annex is applicable here?

And if I am not buying the modem or the router from O2 which specs should i look for (e.g Annex Number, Vectoring, etc...) to ensure compatibility to the VDSL from O2?

Thanks and Regards,

Mak

Hi,

Mak

Hi,

you only need a Router wich support VDSL2 like Fritzbox 7490 and newer. If you connect with ADSL because you leave to a new domizil you need Annex J.

@Komo-MO if you want super Vectoring and multi language Support look a Fritzbox 7530 International Version. If you need more information leave a message here.

@Komo-MO you have write ITU G.993.5. This is super Vectoring up to 300Mbit. This support only AVM Fritzbox 7530, Fritzbox 7590 and TP Link AC2800 here in Germany in the prize range up to 200 Euro.

Ok, here it goes, I already have the modem (DryTek Vigor 130) and the Router (Netgear R7800) with the O2 100Mbits line and everything is working like a charm, However, I would like to understand the characteristics of my line just for the sake of knowledge.

Looking at the specs of the modems and routers in the market i was asking for the above mentioned question just know which characteristics should i look for (Annex Number, VDSL or ADSL, Vectoring or not, which of this ITU-T G.99...)

I am only looking for the above required specs, no product recommendations!

Hello @Komo-MO and welcome to our o2 community :-)

I transfered this thread to the english sub forum so other users can find it :-)

If you want to use an own router please ensure that it supports ANNEX J (the standard used within Germany and most parts of Europe) and it is capable of VDSL 2 vectoring connections. A router that only supprts ADSL will most probably not work.

If you have further questions feel free to ask, I am sure we will find an answer :-)

Regards,

Lars
