50 Mbit/s on LTE and 5G

Hello Dear o2 support,

I have been a customer of BASE/E-Plus being migrated into o2 for over 6 years. With my current 2 year contract i am getting 5G network access along with multiple Data/Multi-Cards. Recently i have received one more Multi-Card with the 26207* IMSI which is o2 and no longer the E-Plus one, I have also went through the process of internal number porting from BASE/E-Plus into o2.

Now despite of all that hassle and being a long time customer of Telefonica i still get the limited Download speeds of 50 Mbit/s through every single sim card that i have both on LTE and 5G. It is very noticeable when one does a speed test on 5G, the speed bumps up to ~100 Mbit/s and gets gradually shaped into ~50 Mbit/s. While having 120GB included monthly and multiple Sim cards i would like to use them on my laptop and other devices for work purposes joining Teams Meetings. Unfortunately the 50 Mbit/s limit makes this experience very unpleasant if not impossible, constant lags, drop outs, cut off voices/video/screen-sharing.

Is there anything one can do (looking at o2) 😁 to make this customer experience as fair as it is for “original” o2 customers? I have a feeling that such a discrimination should not be present for the simple fact that I pay the exact same fee as a non migrated customer, I have the exact same package as a not migrated customer and finally i have a contract with o2/Telefonica just like everyone else for over 4 years already.

Could you kindly advise on further action points or should I consider moving out of o2 once this limited contract expires?

Thank you and looking forward to your reply.

Hi @elobastov ,

the transfer limit is tied to the contract and cannot be changed at this time. Changing the number does not change the base, that’s why a number transfer did not change the speed. Instead of a extension of the contract, a new contract would be the way to go. Thankfully, internal number transfers / switches are easy to request, which makes this part quite simple.
I’m sorry that we can’t offer you a direct solution to request!

Best regards,
Kurt
