why does it take so long to get wifi in germany?

im talking about home wifi. why cant i just call a provider and they send a technician out to install and activate the wifi? it doesnt make sense to have to wait a whole month. i'd be fine with a few days or even a week, but a month is unacceptable since everywhere else in the world it doesnt take more than a few hours

Some things are just the way they are. In other countries, telecommunications may be better than the healthcare system. Here, telecoms is lousy, but the healthcare system is acceptable. You can't have everything!   😉

Home Wifi? Wifi is nothing to do with your provider. No technician will install your Wifi. What you probably mean is broadband. And yes, that takes a few weeks to activate because of the way telecommunications network is set up here and who is responsible for what.

Everywhere else in the world? Germany may not be the fastest and your home country may be much faster, but that is no reason to overexaggerate!

Just a few examples: UK around 2 weeks, France 1 - 3 weeks, Australia 1 - 4 weeks.
