Here is my problem:

I am able to connect to GlobalProtect

I am able to ssh into the remote linux computer in our office.

But, websites related to office network don’t work.

GUI for remote access to linux system doesn’t work

I have o2 cable internet service. I have Fritzbox 6660 router. I am using GlobalProtect VPN.

I have never faced this problem with the VPN, so I am sure it is not a VPN issue. All other internet service providers so far seem to establish a connection that works seamlessly.

I saw a similar thread here with exact same issue for exact same setup. I think VPN and Router were also same.

Please help resolve this as soon as possible

Thanks

Hello @adityatarey ,

it’s most likely that with the cable connection that you are using, the VPN has an issue in combination with the usage of the DS-Lite setup that our cable connections use. You might want to check if your VPN has settings to work with this.

Kind regards, Sven

What settings should I be looking for? Can you give more details?

Thanks,

Aditya

Hello @adityatarey,

Unfortunately, we cannot offer support here when it comes to the settings for your VPN.

Please contact your VPN provider or the responsible contact at your company to find out what solutions are available for DS-Lite connections.

Best regards

Giulia

This is not a VPN issue at all. This is issue at O2’s end. There is another thread where people have faced exact same problem with similar setup. I have used this VPN with multiple ISPs in US, Germany and India over the past few years. Only with O2 I have faced this issue.

I have used this VPN with multiple ISPs in US, Germany and India over the past few years.

These connections were also using DS lite or IPv6 only?

I have colleagues in my office who are using the same VPN and I confirmed with them that their connection is also using DS lite. The VPN settings are same for us.

Hello @adityatarey,

There are no problems with your connection from our side, everything works as it should.

This is probably a problem with the DS-Lite setup of the cable connection. A public IPv4 address is often used for VPN access. However, it is not available for connections with DS-Lite.

If your VPN software does not offer the option of establishing the connection via IPv6 for example, another connection technology like DSL may be more suitable for you. Please let me know if this is an option for you.

Best regards

Giulia

The VPN settings are same for us.

Then you should check your routers settings and the settings of all your devices involved. IPv6 must be supported on both sides of the connection.
