Please help upgrade my DSL from "Classic M Flex" to "My Home XL"

@fburzaco try the 2.4 GHz Wifi with speedtest app from Ookla. You can check the Wifi connection speed in the Fritzbox.(Network or WiFi menu) Near the Fritzbox you can have about 300Mbit.

@fburzaco Can you invite a friend with an actual IPhone or Android Smartphone with 5 GHz Wifi and test again? :kissing:

@fburzaco can post the list of the WiFi networks nearby you.(channel/kanal is important)

@fburzaco 29 Wifi Networks nearby on 2.4 GHz. Respect. :astonished: Hmm. Again try to test with modern smartphone on 5 GHz or with modern notebook.

If you have not the speed, make a ticket. 
At important questions: Did you have already DTU errors? (Internet/DSL Information/DSL)

Thanks @Joe Doe  , I’ve invited a friend to come this weekend for beers, then I’ll test with his phone (always has the latest phones).

 

DTU errors , yea, many many, maybe becasue of the little RAM and CPU always maxxed?:

@fburzaco i think you have two problems. Old computer hardware (😄🤓) and DTU errors. I think (But never See this before) the DTU errors give you the problem with instable download. The problem you must search at: TAE connector box or cable from to TAE connector to APL from house.

My first try to solve this: Please power off your Fritzbox, please Plug out/in the grey dsl cable from Fritzbox to TAE connector Box at the TAE connector box several times.  (Hope this help with connection) Then wait 15 minutes before power on again the Fritzbox. Why you should wait 15 minutes. The DSLAM have a Digital Line Management (DLM). A short power off from your router the DLM can interpret as a line failure and you can get a slow down line profil for some days. But this usually only happens in the event of several short interruptions in a short time frame.

Hi @Joe Doe 

Yes, I thought it was my old hardware, but then, something very strange happened 2 nights ago… the fritzbox disconected from internet… but it was still connected to DSL!  ???  Fritzbox software asked me to drun a diagnostic.. also tdisconecting the gray calbe , then the TSA, then it ran a diagnostic, then conect DSL cable back, ran another diagnostic… and it said there was an error  200 meters away. I include pics of this, and the diagnostic csv.

@fburzaco did you have done my suggestion with several time disconnect the dsl cable and TAE connector box? Please make this and post again after one hour (not the first 15 minutes) a screenshot from your line parameters (Internet/DSL Information/DSL)

Ok, done as you said, several times disconected from TAE with the Fritzbox off  and reconected after 20 minutes. this is the report 1 hour later:

@fburzaco you have to less download. On The first page you have a 260 Mbit sync. You have to much DTU errors. What is in the moment your sync? Complete screen from DSL please (not only the DTU Errors) 

Which consumers are in the vicinity of the Fritzbox? (LED Lights etc?)

edited: my DTU errors for example.

@Joe Doe WOW, your’s makes my DTU errors look extremely impressve bad!

Near the fritzbox is just a telephone, and 2 meters away a surveilance camera on the ceiling.

Fritz & Phone are  at the end of the entry hallway, next to the TAE, and farthest away from the entrance door. Normal low-consumption halogen lamp  in the ceiling 3 meters away.

It has to be then my shabby computer!

@o2_Matze @o2_Matze @rentek any ideas? I never so much corrected DTU errors on a Fritzbox.
I think this is @fburzaco problem with the download.

Hi @Joe Doe @o2_Matze 

First, thank you guys for the incredible support!

Now, as suspected , some tests point that my computer is the guilty part. I just initiated on “safe mode”, and  did some 20 speedtests. they all were consistently above 160Mbits download. That clearly shows that without all my software choking my tiny CPU and tinier RAM, the download improves dramatically. I will wait a month untill I can afford a really nice computer, and I will get back to you then. It doesnt make much sense trying to get good readings when this laptop is clearly a dead horse, oder?

A brief Upate: When checking your DSL Sync my system tells me everything looks good on our end of the line

But i am still not really a 100%  sure that your computer / laptop is the guilty one in this case.

Maybe you could a invite a friend for a coffe who could bring his laptop with him so you could check /test the connection speed with newer / more  powerfuel hardware.

@o2_Matze Hi. That’s a good Idea, I’ll invite a friend to check this on his laptop. 

On my end, the coection also seems seems fine.

From Fritzbox to DSL central exchange, 236 meters away,  it reads:

↓Receive Direction: 260,96 Mbit/s

↑Send Direction: 42,46 Mbit/s

I’ll let you know what happens with another computer,
