O2 DSL Vertragsverlängerung in Juli 2020

I apologise that I am writing in English, but I am not that good that I can write an important question in German yet.

My O2 DSL Free contract is ending on 16.10.2020, however, in Mein O2 account I see that, contract would be automatically extended on July 16.07.2020, three months before the end of the contract. 

Could you please let me know for how long the contract be automatically extended, and if the extension will follow the current plan or there will be changes to the plan?

As I am a PhD student and my contract will end in Aug 2021, what will happen to the DSL contract after that, if I’ll have to live the city or perhaps country.
