New customer - need to change the activation date for cable internet in Germany. English

Hello, I have ordered cable internet. I am a new customer.

Yesterday, I received an email stating that the activation date is 2 April. However, my current contract with with current provided ends on 26 March. I would like to bring forward the start date for O2 to 25 March to avoid this 7-day interruption in service (no internet). 

How can I change the activation date for O2 to 25 March?

A technician is not required as I will connect the O2 router myself. 

I already provided my current telephone number to O2 when I placed my order; so they can find the connection.

I already tried the english support telephone number but they told me that it needs to be with the activation team (in german). Unfortunately, I cannot speak german, I'm learning.

Yes, everything is fine. There will be no gap in service. You'll still pay Vodafone for those few days, but you don't need to contact Vodafone again.

If you have requested a change of provider, the old contract will continue without interruption until the switchover date.

@Bumer  Thank you for your reply. In the O2 email it is “We are pleased to inform you that we have coordinated your switch to o2 with your previous internet provider. This will take place on 2 April 2026.” So can I just assume it is fine and there won’t interruption? If the old contract will continue, then the old provider (Vodafone) will bill for the gap (7 days)? Of course I can pay, just don’t want interruption. Wouldn’t they need me to request the extension? Maybe I need to ask Vodafone to confirm? Many thanks again
