I’m an exchange student study just one semester at Mannheim University. On August 23th, I bought a 02 blue flex contract sim card which would cost me 10 euro/month and I was persuaded to pay 30 euros for a valid fee which can enable me to drop out from the contract whenever I want.



Nowadays, I’m going to leave Germany in January 10th since I only exchange for one semester. I once thought what I paid for 30 euros for the flexibility means that I can cancel my contract directly at one of the shops in Mannheim. But yesterday(December 24th) when I went to the O2 shop located at P5 on the main street of Mannheim. The two female shopkeepers just told me I can’t cancel my contract directly and I must write a letter to the headquarters.



I just wonder I paid the 30 euros for what? I would not pay the extra 30 euros at the shop if I had known I can’t cancel the contract directly as the shop manager once said. I can directly buy a cheaper card which has no flexibility on O2 website!



I want to cancel my phone cardncontract before I leave Germany on Jan 10th since I have the flexibility right. My phone number is 0176XXXXXXX.

I signed a new O2 contract together with the order of iPhone 6 in shop on 27,09,2014. Unfortunately, due the unknown reason, your company send me an email and said couldnt give me the new iPhone. So, i didnt need the mobile service anymore as I dont have the new mobile to use. I wrote an official letter and said I want to cancel my contract on 10,10,2014 which is within the 2 weeks cancellation period.



 



As I urgently need a new mobile and a new sim card, I asked my company to sign a new contract and a new mobile for me under the name of the company, and most importantly, we didnt change the service provider, we still chose O2.



 



However, I received a letter from your side last week, and said my cancellation requested has been received but the contract can only be deactivated after 2 years. What can I do to terminate the contract earlier that I signed before? I have a new sim card already and I dont need that one anymore.

Commerciallycompletedmobile phone contractscontainnowithdrawal and return. The “o2 My Handy”contract andservice planaretwoindependentlyexistingcontracts. The termination of the mobile contract is thus unfortunately only possible at the normal end of the contract.

You say you signed a contract? In an o2 shop? In this case you don't have a 2 week cancellation period as this applies only to telephone and internet orders (so-called Fernabsatzverträge). This is the reason that your cancellation was refused.



 



Edit: To avoid confusion: This is what o2_Christian means when he writes "commercially completed contracts".




I want to terminate my 2-year contract on 28.11.2014, or the nearest possible date. (Marc, thank you very much for your help the other day!)



 



I've already faxed the necessary documents (cancel request form, abmeldebestätigung, rent contract in another country) to the number you gave me. The fax was sent on 14.11.2014. I'm waiting to hear back from them, and I have a few questions.



 



(1) How soon, roughly, will I hear back from O2 about this?



 



(2) When they tell me the necessary amount to pay (3 months basic fee), can I pay it at an O2 shop?



 



(3) I've already closed my German bank account. If I don't hear back from O2 before I leave Germany, which methods will be available for me to pay them? I'll be living in a country where I do have a bank account, but I'll also be traveling long-term before reaching there. If I hear back from O2 while traveling and if they ask me for a quick payment, which methods will be available? Is a credit card accepted? How about Western Union?

Hello:



 



I sent a letter two months ago telling that I would like to cancel my O2 go flatrate XL two months ago. The letter has been ignored since O2 has taken off 30 euros from my banck account  during this months.



 



Because of that, I would like to ask you if there is an special document I need to send to the company (I have read on previous post that there is a formular, so I would like to ask the moderators to send it to me) appart of the cancelation of apartment.

The O2 Surfstick because I contracted it for the months in which I would not be able to have DSL conection at home. By the time I got it (3 months ago) I tried to cancel it by letter, but I didn't get replied. 



 



The DSL because in the dorm where I am moving there is already Wi-Fi, so i won't need it. Tomorrow I will send you one fax with  a letter in which I tell you that I want to finish both services with you, the canceletion of my old apartment and the contract with my new aparment. 



 



The case of the surfstick is specially annoying because I have already paid 2 months of something that I dont use. But I am sure that we will able to solve this situation because you have a reputation of being very professionals.
