Hi.

I have just returned from a 10-day vacation. Before leaving I disconnected the power cables of my router FritzBox 7590, as done in the past. Coming back I plugged in the power for the router again: the WIFI is working fine, I can connect with my devices to the router, but the router does not get any connection to the internet (power LED of the FritzBox blinking constantly every second). I tried to restart the rounter, leaving it unpowered for few minutes. I also checked the DSL cable, and all looks good. Any idea what can be wrong?

Thanks!

Stefano.

Moin,

not a good idea to disconnect the router.

Call the hotline tomorrow.

Hi.

I thanks for your replies. I called the next day, opened a ticket for a technician to follow up. I called again after two days since no progress in my request visible. Got higher priority, but then got a message that there is a heavy load of requests and need to wait more… not very helpful unfortunately…

it is still not clear to me why switching off the router for 10 days is not a good idea. I was aiming for some energy saving… can the settings be changed and my connection gone like that?

Thanks

Stefano

Hi,

tonight the issue has been solved, ticket closed, without explanations, so not sure what the problem was. Also not sure why powering down the router during vacation is not a good idea :-)

thanks

Stefano.

Because the other side thinks there is a defect. DSL is a always on connection.
