Fiber upgrade planned later

Hi people,

 

I have this quick question as to how I should deal with the following. I recently moved into a new building and I was informed Fiber would be available as of 08.2025 (time of writing is 03.2025). Would I need to contact o2 to have Fiber setup (I currently ordered a DSL connection for the time being) when the day comes that its available or should I contact o2 now to have it prepared from now on.

Also it seems that Telekom is the one in charge of the Fiber installation in the area, should I contact Telekom as well or would o2 be enough?

that is great that you are interested in fiber via us 🙂

To check if it is available from us at your adress, you can check with our availability check.

When it shows available from 8/2025 on, then you can already now order a contract with a tariff via fiber.

Or did the DSL contract, which you asked about earlier happen and cannot be cancelled anymore? In that case you have to wait 6 months from the activation on and then you can order a change of technology, which will then happen seamlessly from DSL to fiber 🙂

Hey Gerrit,

 

I was told that when I would want to upgrade to fiber to come to the store and order it there.

I needed and internet connection fast so I ordered DSL for now and that when I came later it would be upgraded. 
I was mainly wondering if something would be needed to do in my apartment such as changing the outlet or something of that sort.

there is no need to go to an o2 store to change the technology later on. The router is already compatible to fiber. Just get in touch with us to ask for the change if the line is installed.

We can assist you in this matter.
