Hi everyone,

I need some help switching my current O2 Homespot 5G plan (ending in 9 days) to the O2 Home M 150 (Fiber/Glasfaser) plan.

I live in a 2023 neubau apartment with an OTO box already installed on the wall. Neighbors in my building are already using Telekom and 1&1 fiber, so the local setup is definitely active and working.

I spoke with an online agent named Ken to get a renewal offer for the Home M 150 plan. He offered a good deal, but mentioned the offer is only valid until my Homespot 5G contract ends on September 25th. However, his system blocked it from going through, saying the fiber connection at my address is "still under inspection," and he asked me to call the hotline to reach the Activation Team.

I called the hotline to sort this out, but after being told the system froze, I was promised a callback that never came.

While waiting for the callback, I checked Telekom's website, which shows my building is connected, though it lists a planned expansion completion date of October 7, 2026. I called Telekom directly and gave them my OTO serial number. The Telekom agent confirmed the line is ready and said they could send a technician to activate it within days if I signed a contract with them. Since I want to stay with O2, they said O2 needs to submit the activation request.

I called the English hotline again to convey my findings, but I got transferred to the activation team where no one spoke English. I tried my best with my limited German, but it got me nowhere. With my 5G running out on September 25th, time is getting very tight.

Could a moderator please take a look at my account manually and help submit this activation request to Telekom so I can complete the order? If the line activation will take some time, could you also help reserve or extend Ken's offer so I do not lose the deal while this gets sorted out?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Hello @Sommerlily,

I see that the order for a new fiber contract at your adress is active and you will receive a date as soon as possible.

But it might well be that it will be later than the deactivation of your Homespot contract as of as now there is not a fixed date yet.

Best Regards,

Gerrit

Hi @o2_Gerrit ,

Thank you for checking on this and giving me an update!

Since I had not received new info and my Homespot plan ends in a few days, I decided to visit a local O2 shop last Saturday. They managed to get a contract finalized. But, unfortunately, I was not able to get the discount that Ken originally offered me online. As a loyal customer for both mobile and home internet for over 10 years who tried hard to resolve this myself, it is a shame that such a technical issue prevented me from getting a better offer.

Thank you again for your time and assistance!

Best wishes,

Sommerlily
